I'll be there this weekend...yippy kye-yay mother f-ers! So stoked... SmileWavy Tabs, so what is the best buffet in Vegas? |
3 place
These are 3 place I can be found when in LV
Good eats, close to Vegas home for me Cafe Heidelberg http://www.vegas.com/searchagent/restaurant/ViewRestaurant.do?restaurantId=3123 A good hangout for locals and local talent sun-thurs Cheetahs http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/stripclubs/cheetahs.html Punk rock and cheap drinks !!! Double down http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/doubledown.html |
tabs has had two great discourses on buffets in my memory:
Setting out the best buffets (note many months ago - he may have changed) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=142273&highlight=prime+ rib+buffet And passing on his vast knowledge of buffet etiquette: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174248&highlight=prime+ rib+buffet |
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, except one thing?

Couple of my favorites:
The pool at the Hard Rock on a Saturday is always a fun little can't miss event when the weather is nice and the crowds at night are good too. The Ghost Bar on top of the Palms is one heck of a view but will destroy your wallet too (bring your digital camera and snap a couple of group shots up there, they are great. If you care to get drinks at say 4:30-5:00 a.m., Drai's in the basement of the Barbary coast (bad casino but great night life) is definately worth a shot. Have fun! |

Last week I tried the revamped Mirage Buffet called "Cravings"...nothing to write home to ma about....
BELLAGIO is still the BEST buffet in my book Best Poker Rooms ....Bellagio and Mirage...as in all Vegas Poker rooms be wary of the Locals they will eat you for lunch.. U are what they wait for.... Hard Rock and Palms are still the HOT SPOTS... Couple of new additions for food.. Jerrys Nugget... way way way down Las Vegas Blvd....best Prime Rib...14.95 for 28 oz....$30 for 48 oz....locals casino and nothin fancy bout it ...also save room for their deserts...they are to kill for... LUV IT"S...for a custard style ice cream.. 100 ft E of Las Vegas Blvd on Oakley (just past the Statosphere). Closed Sun/Mon open from 1 PM to 10 PM. Sm little place.. smooth |
I still like Hard Rock, nice place to hang before stumbling down Paradise to the Double Down. (Not too far of a stroll and you can take your drink with you!)
I just can't get into the Palms scene.. too many trying to be too cool. I would rather go a little east and hang at PinkEs. Some weekends they have good bands too. I got to meet Jason Bonham there a few years ago. http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/pinkes.html Lots of cool stuff just a little off the beaten path. And you can see what dump most of the town really is. (Sorry just callin it like I see it) |
And the telephone number to the Free Clinic is........
|
<i>"$30 for 48 oz"</i>
Is it possible to eat 48 oz of meat in one sitting? |

I will be lucky if I end up eating one healthy sized meal this weekend...
Liquid diet my friends...it's all about a liquid diet. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/puke.gif |
<i>" If you apply yourself. You have to be dedicated."</i>
Reminds me of Chet Ripley in 'The Great Outdoors' - the scene where he eats the "Ol' 96er". :D |
I tried to eat one of their 48 OZ gourmet delights once ....Started off with an apetizer of Calamari. salad, Baked Potatoe, garlic Bread, 48 oz of Prime, and a fruit tart Delux for desert....
It was a bit much going down, and woulda made it real easy if I had bin hungry...that mornining for Breakfast I had 3 eggs over easy, Bisquits and gravey, Chickenfried Steak and hash browns, For lunch I had 3 Double Doubles, fries and 2 shakes at In and Out Burgers...Ummm this is makin me hungry |
The eating is Phase I. Then there's Phase II ......

I was in Vegas earlier this week. All my Vegas trips include one dinner at Drais restaurant. Drais is on the basement floor of Barbery Coast, and Barbery Coast is across the street (strip) from Ceasars.
The 20-oz "Drais's Cut" is to die for. Yes, it's pricey, but well worth it. Especially if cooked rare. |
There are sooooo many places to go here in LV..thats one of the GREAT things about this town..is the dining....IT"S WORLD CLASS..this place attracts the best Chefs from all around the world...and every major restruant in the USA has at least a branch restruant here....The entertainment is also exceptional...weather it be gambling, shows or whatever you want it to be...Where else can you be in New York, Paris, Venice, Ancient Egypt or Ancient Rome just by walking across the street... For such a small city in the desert this place is World Class....
But there is a downside to all of that.....the Strip is a Carnival with sideshow delights evrywhere, but it's all a pseudade full of grifters, con men and hucksters all here to seperate the RUBE from his money....in reality it is a vicious, hardass town with no remorse...it is the last stop on the road to He11 for every loser and degenerate in the world.... |
Wished I was there...
