New Toy

Just bought a Bridgeport Series I Boss 5 CNC mill with PC upgrade for my shop, this will compliment my manual BP and Logan 10" Lathe. Look for me to offer "CNC Billet" parts in the near future after I get used to running it. I'm going to start with billet air filters for webers/zeniths.

Chris... this is for your personal "workshop"

I too am green with envy.

Here I have a newly installed Fadal 6030 set-up to run with "Feature Cam" for prototype and production parts.

CNC has come a long way during my working career.

:D

Don't get too green with envy guys, I only paid $1200 for it. This is an older machine once controlled with a tape drive. There is a tape emulator installed now so it can be run with a PC. my plans are to run it as is and then upgrade to Gecko drives or similar and have full PC control. The machine will be installed at my families business but its all mine. My brother in law and I (he owns the business) are looking to buy a small commerical building to use as our personal shop as well as the companies machine/repair shop.

Heck, I'd be happy with an old manual Bridgeport. Last used one many years ago in college. My semester project was to take all of my Campagnolo Record bicycle components and lighten them via fluting/drilling/etc. That was a blast.

If you need or want some "quasi" official help try MACHINTEK@AOL.COM he is here on pelican as machintek and supports (or used to ) Bridgeport and fadal machines. He may be able to handle your more intimate problems.

Welcome to the "idiot at a push of a button club". 5axis sideways and upside down at full blast .

Was it supposed to do that ?
