Sox Win

I don't even like baseball, but that was a cool game.

}{arlequin 10-17-2004 09:27 PM

that was awesome. For the first half I was busy w/ my pedal cluster and master, but there was so much more game left :D

rammstein 10-17-2004 09:28 PM

I can't believe I got this post up before CJ got a chance!

He must still be celebrating....great game

red-beard 10-17-2004 09:40 PM

I was Happy Houston won 2 games today!

And the best part was, they beat the "Oilers"!

CJFusco 10-18-2004 05:43 AM

i've become somewhat cynical, rammstein...

Red Sox: 2018 World Champions?

I'm sorry, I just don't think they can pull it off

Maybe not, but I think they will make a series out of it. The Sox have too much power to go quietly. That was a GREAT game last night.

Jason Porter 10-18-2004 06:20 AM

Nothing like giving those pitiful RedSox a little hope, and then smacking the reality back into them...

"Sorry, but you just don't have what it takes. Sure, you guys are a good team, but the Yankees are just plain better than you. I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings, I'm only trying to help you be realistic."

Bu-wa-ha-ha-ha-ha:D

Rope-a-dope?

Absurd, I know, but did the Yankees punch themselves out?!? Are their arms and legs tired from the 19-8 a$$ whipping they put on the Sox?

I've seen it before in professional sports. A golfer follows up a 62 with a 72. A football team follows up a 35-7 win with a 10-6 loss.

Pedro is up on the bump tonight, only this time it's Fenway and not Pedro's day care center Yankee Stadium. If he can hold it together, then Shilling could go Wednesday with a new pair of shoes.

I just want it to be competitive and not have the Sox blown out like the first three games.

Jason Porter 10-18-2004 06:27 AM

Screw competitive, gimme 19-8...GO YANKEES!!!

cmccuist 10-18-2004 06:35 AM

Jason, you know you want a game 7!! What could be more epic than these two teams killing each other for a chance at my 'Stros.

(You can't stop Beltran, you can only hope to contain him. He's the Matsui of the NL!)

Why can't the Yankees just crater? Isn't 26 enough for cryin' out loud!?!

Individually, I like the Yankees. Jeter and A-rod and Bernie Williams and Mariano Rivera are decent guys, but that doesn't make them any less of an evil empire.

In the name of all that's holy, Boston, pull your head out and win the next three! It's your destiny.

Jason Porter 10-18-2004 08:27 AM

What about Matsui?

I think this is why the Sox lost the first couple games in the ALCS; they wore themselves out in the Anaheim series!

I have a whole lot of respect for Matsui, Bernie, Mariano, Mussina, and Joe Torre.

I can't friggin stand Jeter, A-Rod, Sheffield, Posada, Lofton, or Giambi

I am expecting the worst, hoping for the best

Jason Porter 10-18-2004 01:17 PM

How can you not like Jeter...He's clutch, and he's a team player on the highest level, in fact I would say he is THE team player...

CJFusco 10-18-2004 02:18 PM

because he is a cocky bastard, and a prissy little pretty-boy. I am not arguing with his ability - he is a hall-of-famer for sure - but every time I see his face on the screen I want to punch it.

Jason Porter 10-18-2004 02:22 PM

I guess if he destroyed the hopes and dreams of my team every time I saw him, I'd hate him too...nevermind.

CJFusco 10-18-2004 02:58 PM

let me guess... you became a yankees fan sometime around 1996, right?

Sox fans are born, yankees fans are bought.

Look at it this way, only the Cardinals and Yankees have won more World Series titles than the RedSox. You had a great run. Sure, it ended in 1918, but it was a good run. ;)

CJFusco 10-18-2004 03:45 PM

looks like it may be a Cards/Yanks WS too, unless the Sox pull off a miracle

looking forward to the next Red Sox dynasty, beginning in 2018

(actually, the Sox sold Ruth in 1920 or 1921, i forget which, so maybe it will be then... do curses last 100 years from the LAST championship, or from when the curse started?)

UconnTim97 10-18-2004 05:17 PM

Extra innings again.....
