Sydney Motor Show

I went to the motor show yesterday and thought i would share a few pics
this is a toyota concept car that was interesting. it had 3 modes that it could move between
first, slow / parking

then medium / city driving

and last faster highway driving

It could turn a 360 on the spot

Had hubless wheels up front with the brakes on the rim

and this is how it opened

Ahhh, yes - one my favoriteist current Alfas:

To quote the Alfa Site:
http://www.alfaromeo.com/cgi-bin/pb...tOID=1074002440

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione downunder
_
Together in Sydney, for the International Motor Show, the latest supercar and the very first Alfa model: the G1.
Alfa Romeo has brought in Sydney for the International Motor Show the new 8c Competizione prototype.
Designed and developed by the Alfa Romeo Style Center, it’s a state of the art supercar, evoking the great racing and road models of the past. Back in the Thirties and in the Forties, the “8C” signature identified sports and track cars equipped with the powerful eight cylinder designed by Vittorio Jano.
So the name itself is a clear reference to the history of the brand.
The 8C Competizione is a carbon fibre two seater. The large tyres and the powerful, muscular rear wings give to the car a strong personality.
The bodywork is a modern interpretation of traditional Alfa stylistic cues. The front end recalls the famous 33 Coupé Stradale, while the rear has the characteristic round light clusters of the Giulia TZ.
Under the bonnet lurks a 4.2 litres supercharged 8V, delivering more than 400 bhp at 7000 rpm. Top speed is above 300 kilometres per hour (188 mph); acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour (0-60 mph) is 4.5 seconds.
The new Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione met in Australia the oldest existing model of the brand: the G1. This car, based in Sydney, spent many years in a farm of the Queensland. For a long time it wad used as a water pump. Fully restored it’s now capable of speeding above 110 kilometres per hour, despite being more than 80 years old.

Ahhhhhhhhh....Alfa, come baaaaaack...

jeff
...has a black one:
