Go sox!!

UconnTim97 10-18-2004 07:09 PM

Ortiz to the rescue again!!! Another great game, and Shilling pitching game 6...

CJFusco 10-18-2004 07:18 PM

THAT... WAS... SO... EMOTIONALLY DRAINING

I still don't have hope, but man, what a game!

the point where I became really emotionally invested was when Wakefield/Varitek let three passed balls get through, and then Wake struck out Sierra to end the inning.

But so many moments... Nixon's catch, Bernie's HR (most all-time post-season), Jeter's triple, Ortiz's Homer... Sox strike out the side twice in a row... Ortiz steals a base, and he's safe but gets called out! What a game.

Schrup 10-18-2004 07:20 PM

Great game!!! Damon was saved from being the goat, nice bunt Sampson.

}{arlequin 10-18-2004 08:26 PM

red sox fevah baby!

Neilk 10-18-2004 09:52 PM

God I feel sorry for you Sox fans.

I couldn't handle the stress after living through all that disappointment. I am not a baseball fan, but I have really enjoyed watching the last couple of games. Go SOX!!

hoff944 10-18-2004 10:38 PM

I'm a Cubs fan, so it would be great to see one team to shake it's curse.

Icemaster 10-19-2004 03:04 AM

I have too much stress in my life already, I had to turn it off in the 10'th. Thanks for the update.

This makes me so happy....

CJFusco 10-19-2004 08:11 AM

i almost had to vomit from stress when wakefield/varitek let 3 passed balls get through

but Wake ended up striking out Sierra to end the inning...

Z-man 10-19-2004 10:28 AM

Ok, they won 2 in a row. But can they beat the Yanks at the House the Ruth built?

You may be familiar with this Ruth fella - Babe Ruth. Think back to 1918...

Go Yanks!

Muhahaha!
-Z.

}{arlequin 10-19-2004 10:57 AM

well, if there was ever a *way* to get past that 1918 thing, this would be a good way to go about it....

lendaddy 10-19-2004 11:02 AM

Going TO a game seven would indeed be cool, I just wouldn't want the Sox to win:)

Arrogant, whatever. I don't like em. Some of em that is I guess. I don't like Manny cause he thinks he's too good for the game, doesn't give 100% on defense, makes one handed whips at the ball, etc..

I don't like Pedro for similar reasons, but I digress. It reminds me of Michigan State basketball. They recruit all the problem kids and make no attempt to straighten em out. You end up with a team of unrespectful thugs and glory hounds. I just can't see Manny diving into the stands headfirst ya know?

CJFusco 10-19-2004 12:26 PM

yeah and guys like Sheffield and Giambi are class acts?!?

Give me a break.

No, but guys like Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, and other Yankees are!

Man, this baseball team bashing is a breath of fresh air from all of those politcal debates here!

lendaddy 10-19-2004 12:48 PM

You'll note that when the Yanks get a "problem player" they are well aware they need to straighten their **** out or ride the pine/leave. Boston doesn't care, I mean chew Manny's ass for playing half-assed out there! But no.

Wanna be a Yankee? Cut your hair, cut the offfield bull****, give 100% all the time.

Wanna play for the Sox? Put up good numbers, that is all.

cmccuist 10-19-2004 12:48 PM

This reminds me of the Raiders and Steelers. They would beat the living Dog$h# out of each other and really, literally hated each other.

I thought it impossible to follow up that 12 inning game 4 nail-biter with another gut wrenching 14 innning game 5. What will we see tonight, a 20 inning no-hitter?!?

This is Ali-Frazier esque!

lendaddy 10-19-2004 12:52 PM

One more thing:) I don't think you'll find an two foot tall "party-midgets" in the Yanks pregame locker room. It's just totally undisciplined.

Exactly. Rebels vs. Evil Empire.

cmccuist 10-19-2004 01:07 PM

Daddy I am with you polically, but you are looking at the Yankees through rose-colored welding goggles. The Yankees are not angels by any stretch.

Dating back to the Babe, who was a womanizer and alcoholic, you have Mickey Mantle who was also a womanizer and tore up two livers.

I'm sure Jeter is working his way through as many groupies as he can, there is a viscous, unsubtantiated rumor that A-rod is a swinger.

You have two best sellers - The Bronx Zoo and Ball Four - that document the shennaigans of the Yanks. These guys are pros and have their share of crossing over the line. David Wells wrote a book just on himself about his brawling and drinking and generally carrying on just like a Red Sox player!

The Yankees may look disciplined and clean cut on the field and in the clubhouse, but these guys party hard! It's New York!
