What are we going to do after the election?

What are we going to “talk” about when the whole Kerry and Bush issue is decided?

IMHO, most politically related discussions here have turned into nothing short of personal attacks. Due to this, I have decided to step back and if anything just watch in awe.

Will the online “friendships” that were forged during the last couple years on this forum survive?

I surely hope so. I also hope that both sides drop their political “alliance” after the election is decided and we go back to the business of the nation (and of the board).

I imagine it will still be ugly after the election.

If GWB wins, we'll bicker about the invasion of Iran and the execution of political prisoners here in the US under Patriot III

If Kerry wins, we'll be looking at another Starr-esque inquiry into every drop of ketchup the poor guy ever spilled. Starr spent something like $70M on that witch hunt (far more than GWB spent on investigating 9/11); I imagine the next one will be even bigger.

well, now that i have been called a lesbian and a hermaphodite (not that there is anything wrong with that) i will too be backing away from the political rhetoric. i was completly crushed by this assessment of my being and do not think i will recover regardless of the results of the election. sticks and stones would have hurt less. NOT!

actually the true colors of some have been revealed here, and there are a certain few that i would not piss on if they were on fire. so to answer you question, NO things will never be the same here IMO.

we will play will together "all nice" again at some point, but this is a microcosm of the nation as a whole. will we recover? as a nation one can only wonder.

The political climate here is not friendly to contrary opinions - either way. What began as a friendly way to help me think of what the other side was feeling has dwindled to white noise due to the latent hatred of the liberal and conservative minds. After reading and writing to these posts containing this hatred I have started to feel it myself for those who think different from myself.

This hatred is bad as I am an American who believes in freedom. So rather than participate actively I will participate sparingly.

At this point I'm just poking them with a stick on occasion.

widebody911 10-25-2004 10:57 AM

I guess I'll just go back to being a lesbian

Heat should be expected when you have multiple sides, each of which believes is right. Some guys need an outlet. I ride bicycles really hard, and it makes me forget the daily grind.

BlueSkyJaunte 10-25-2004 11:04 AM

Who cares? I hate all you f*ckers anyway.

:D

We'll be talking about all the law suits filed by one party or the other about voter fraud and recounting which ballots form which counties and it will all go back to the Supream court to decide and they will throw up their hands and say we don't give a fk anymore...and the army will step in to seperate Widebody and Stromberg to restore order to the pelican Board

jrdavid68 10-25-2004 11:30 AM

Hopefully, more will concentrate on the Grid Girls thread.

So g'head, lets hear it. ...

btw, ALL kinds of people here know me personally, or have corresponded with me outside this board. So maybe try painting me as something less like your missed Yankee.

dd74 10-25-2004 12:46 PM

...and you two are how old?

BlueSkyJaunte 10-25-2004 12:48 PM

OK, Yankster, post your full name, address, phone #, SS#, and vital stats and I'm sure others will follow.

Me, I like to stay (mostly) safely anonymous because there are lunatics out there who think it's funny to make personal threats because they can't stand the heat in the kitchen. Some of them even sign up with multple IDs.

HILARIOUS! :D

The Dems are already formulating their Abu Graib impeachment strategy if Bush wins. If Kerry wins then the GOP-controlled congress will gridlock legislation. I'd like to see Kennedy, Leahy and Daschle defeated. Then there will be some movement on appointing judges.

There will still be plenty to talk about.

mattdavis11 10-25-2004 01:09 PM

I hope to hear about Kach, and LynnsABCs collecting of the wooden stakes that hold up yard signs, and selling them to recoup their costs for stolen the signs.
