			From the article: Quote:
I started to read a book called: The man who discovered Pluto. In it it tells of a joint Congressional declaration read by the President in 1900 which more or less declares America's hope for the future century and our world role in it. It was all very upbeat and postive, everyone was still excited about beating the pants off of Spain over Cuba and had a vision for more power. Now we are just trying to hang on, and we see our world slipping by. We need hope for a better future, not just one of more war and bloodshed.

If I were President and wanted to improve the security of the nation, and maximize its prospects for the future, I'd invest heavily in alternative energy sources, and in education. Ummmmm, the current "president" seems to hold a different viewpoint.

Americans in many ways are their own worst enemies....Americans are addictied to their consumer goods, Americans seem to think they should be paid more for their labor, Americans think they don't have to study to be competive in the world market place...Americans have become apathetic to the political process which is an abdication of determining their own destiny, Americans want instant gratification, and Americans are too preoccupied to notice the homogenization of the media and corporate structures in general...

More big picture: Putin talks about trading oil in euros. If this happens, we can kiss goodbye to the dollar... http://www.globalpolicy.org/socecon/crisis/2003/1010oilpriceeuro.htm Aurel

Ohh...not only can we kiss good bye to the Dollar we can kiss America Goodbye...the economy will go to **** ...why because no foreign investment into American Stocks or Bonds...and we won't have anymore leverage by manipulating the dollar to our advantage... One good thing about it though is there will be no more defceit spending, and welcome to a currency that is as stable as that of Brazil, Argentina and Mexico....

But wait, we can just 'grow' out way out of this pickle, right? We can grow by creating the world's largest service-sector economy, right? I mean, nobody is entitled to a job - that's crazy liberal talk. What's good for Wall Street is good for American. Outsourcing makes us stronger. It's the menial jobs (programming, project management, electrical engineering, call centers) being outsourced anyway; that stuff can be done by robots. Deficits don't matter - Dick Cheney
