She's also charged with battery after a woman who confronted Armitage about taking the signs claimed Armitage opened her car door and hit the woman in the back.

Such a peaceful and loving woman....who would have thought? Damn that President Bush!!!!

FYI: Pittsfield Township outside of Ann Arbor Michigan has a big Taho/Suburban that they continuously fill with road signs. They actually pay someone to drive around and pick off signs in the setback. They took one of my architects signs in front of a building project under construction. When the builder put an "open house" sign near the first unit's front door, they took that without notice too. That was on a weekend!

If it's not your property, then you have no right to post a political sign (or otherwise) there. Please keep that in mind.

....and if you're not working for the property owner or the overseeing goverment body then you're breaking the law when you trespass and commit robbery. Think she picks up illegal garage sale signage?

I agree that people shouldn't place signs on the right of way. Im suprized that there were no Kerry signs there as well. Since she only had Bush signs in her possesion I assume that there were none there. I hope she picked up the cans and other trash that was probably their in her effort at being a good samaritan.

James Acosta, head of St. Johns County enforcement says that Armitage was "advised not to collect the campaign signs. We asked that she notify us of the area and we would send a crew to pick them up."

Who you gonna believe, a person who was simply trying to do his job or some "criminal" who was caught taking the law into her own hands....and ended up assaulting an innocent bystander in the process?
