Has nothing to do with the car. I burned rubber in everything I got my hands on includung a Dodge Dart with a slant six. It has to do with Hugh and his son.

I say good thinking and nice car.

Fantastic. He clearly has enough maturity to handle it. What a great project for a dad and his son.

Now some advice. ;) Don't be too hard on him after the first scratch. He sounds like a great kid!

I say cool car Hugh. It's great that you're going to teach him something too. Teach him about driving it, and he'll respect what you tell him. Explain about driving a car at...and past...it's limits, and what happens. Let him know that most minivans can out handle that thing.

I think your son will respect what you're teaching him, and appreaciate what you gave him (a sweet-a$$ car).

I had a '78 Buick. I got it to 125MPH...and climbing. I probably would have done the same in a station wagon. I didn't' know anything about cars losing control, and cornering. My dad probably never thought of it. He taught me alot about cars, driving etc...but I think we learn as we go.

You're a cool dad, and I'm sure your son respects what you're giving him. I know I did when I got my '81 Firebird...even though it did have a big white spot of bondo. I thought it was cool.

Very nice Cutlass, ditto on the Torq Thrusts though! Sounds like you have a great son, because it is the kid, not the car. When I was 16 I wanted a 65 Mustang that I found for sale, with a 6 cylinder of all things. My dad claimed because it was a "muscle car" (with a 6?!) that I would drive it like an idiot. Well I showed him, I totaled four cars in my first two years of driving, one a full size truck and several Nissans that were by no means fast. Teach him to respect it, and he'll make you proud.
