Winterize outboard motor

I have never owned an outboard boat motor so my knowledge of them is limited. Do I need to get anitifreeze in the lower unit or does all of the water drain out and you don't have to worry about it freezing at all??
I know to use fuel stabilizer, Engine fog and change lower oil but not sure anout any water being in the lower.

For jet skies you run antifreeze through, sorry I don’t know about outboards

Just put Stabil in the gas, and make sure you run it, so it gets to the carbs. It you can't run it long, then start it up with the hose attachment device on the lower end water intake, and spray fogging spray into the carbs. Then, make sure you drain the oil out of the lower end, and re-install the drain/fill plugs. No need for antifreeze. Aside from removing the battery, and keeping it charged...that's it!! Oh yeah, don't forget to refill the lower end with gear oil next year before running it!! All of this is assuming your outboard is a two-stroke.

By following the above, I have never had problems with the numerous outboards my family has owned.
