A day that will live in infamy. The day that ended a civil war that made today's divide seem like mere child's play.

Ok, I have to come clean, sort of. I was trying to ignore this thread, but Curt, you dragged me in. Thanks.
My wife is a huge fan of disco. Back in 95 I took her to "Discorama" featuring Sister Sledge, Thelma Houston, Pointer Sisters and yes, the Villiage People. I'm sorry. And when she plays it, I kind of like it. Well, some of it. Not the VP. ugh. Actually, she does'nt have any VP. There, I said it. Are you happy? However, I'm not completely pathetic. When she puts on her Opera, I gotta leave. It's garage time for daddy when that screaming is on!

Well, my wife is a BIG disco fan too and, somehow, we got to together???? But I have yet to be dragged to some retro-disco concert ....... I do, occasionally, have to put up with the Ohio Players or KC & The Sunshine Band playing in the house though!

One of the bands I was in called itself a "funk" band and contained several players from the university's jass band. Excellent musicians and I did develop a small degree of respect for some of that stuff (Hey, I'm an incorrigible blues/rock kinda guy), but it wasn't KC and VP. It was Brecker Brothers, Tower of Power, stuff like that. And being a bass player I can report a strong positive impression of the bass player for Earth, Wind and Fire.
I'll continue on briefly..... Horns (we had two trumpets, a sax and a trombone) are very interesting in terms of audience impact. It seems you cannot just nap through horn music stirring your drink. When the horns played, we saw lots of faces. But in truth, when the horns sat down and let us rockers do some tunes (the guitar player was like me), that's when people danced off all that alcohol. Ha!
