Some good movies listed here. I watched Casablanca last Saturday for the nth time. I had not seen it in a year or so, but have seen it many times over the years. Greatest romance movie of all time. That is, if you can trust the judgement of a complete heterosexual who occasionally wears dresses in public, on the topic of romance movies.

Wait a minute here, if I was stuck on a desert island, those wouldn't be the movies I'd be watching. Here's my top ten list:

1. Behind The Green Door (1972, dir: Jim & Artie Mitchell, Mitchell Bros.) The debut adult film of 'Ivory Snow' girl Marilyn Chambers, this breakthrough classic broke down more than one door to reveal a surrealistic sexual utopia. It's a masterpiece that ushered in a sensational new era for adult films that continues to flourish. Suddenly adult films and X-Rated videos had a mantle of respectability and acceptability that they never had before. This is a must for every aficionado of adult films and videos.

2. House of Dreams (1990, dir: Andrew Blake, Caballero) Drench your mind with the fantastic flowing images of sexual pleasure as only Blake can create them. House of Dreams is his best. It will fill your dreams and stimulate your senses with beautiful scenes of sexual splendor. The 'House' is Blake's stage for presenting some of the most elegant erotica ever filmed.

3. Insatiable (1980, dir: Godfrey Daniels, Caballero) Marilyn Chambers is red hot and wild in this sensational scorching sizzler! She tosses inhibitions to the wind in a flaming frenzy of luscious lust unequaled in adult films. Marilyn is also superbly directed and presented in two other excellent films: Insatiable II and Up and Coming. See all three!

4. Marriage and Other 4 Letter Words (1974, dir: Rick Robinson, VCA) Just watch a few minutes of this beautifully filmed sexual romp and you'll see why it's my ever-lovin', pussy-chasin', mattress-bouncin' favorite. Sophisticated film techniques like the juxtaposition of rapid and slow-mo film speeds are used to cleverly apply humor to some situations and sensitivity to others. You'll probe the depths of the characters' feelings about common problems including marital boredom, infidelity and fear of the unknown. You'll 'feel' their range of sensual pleasures from the time you first see both couples connecting socially as friends to the sensitive initiation of the neophyte couple into the 'swinging' lifestyle, and the zesty escapades of both couples tasting a gourmet smorgasbord of diverse delights with each other. Yummy stuff!

It was shot by professionals whose prior work was in television commercials. They applied their artistic talent to their passion for swinging and the result is a plot that's funny and a porn video that's solidly in my top ten.

5. The Opening of Misty Beethoven (1976, dir: Henry Paris, VCA) It's a 'snap' to see why this is internationally renowned as one of the all-time grr-r-r-eat adult films. Along with an abundance of hot and juicy sex, this is one funny flick! The farce is with you! It's a hilarious satire . . . a take off of 'My Fair Lady' based on George Bernard Shaw's classic 'Pygmalion.' It's probably the finest example of a fully-integrated adult film. The tension generated by the characters and plot motivates the sexual heat in this must-see X-Rated video.

6. The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann (1974, dir: Henry Paris, VCA) Henry Paris does it right! This lavishly produced video has the look and sophistication of a mainstream Hollywood production. In fact, it was the first adult film to show that porn could have Hollywood quality. Everything works! The delightful humor. The professional musical score that enhances the action and enriches the film. An eye-popping creamy collection of some of the most beautiful sex scenes ever put on X-Rated film. You'll see why it's my favorite Henry Paris film.

7. Shock (1996, dir: Michael Ninn; Producer: Jane Hamilton; VCA Platinum) Sit down before this shocker knocks you down! If you've seen Latex, this is the sensational sequel to it. If you haven't seen Latex treat yourself to a mouth-watering calorie-free, fat-free feast and see them both! Shock is the ultimate porn masterpiece. It features top-of-the-line production values including special effects, expert editing and music scored to guarantee that every scene sizzles with white-hot sex, sex and more sex! I see something new and exciting in it every time I view it - and so will you! Shock is the video that sets the standard for future adult video productions.

8. Taboo I (1980, dir: Kirdy Stevens, VCX Inc) If incest is best, then there really is no place like home! That's the way luscious Kay Parker feels about it - and does more than feel around with her teenage son after devouring him with her eyes as he showers. She feels around, fools around and showers him with a lot more hot action than most lads get from a loving mother. What started all this familial fun? That's easy. Her husband took off with his sexy secretary and mama couldn't even get aroused at an all-out, anything-goes orgy! But, she gets off big time - again and again and so forth with sonny boy. The house stud is conveniently located right at the homestead. It's just a short hop, skip and jump right into the sack. The sumptuous scenes of sizzling taboo sex have made this one of the most popular films ever released. The frosting on this tasty pastry is the riotous ribaldry of the unforgettable, scene-stealing, show-stopping porn movie star Juliet (Aunt Peg) Anderson. Although her role is minor, her impact on this fantastic X-Rated film is definitely major!

9. Talk Dirty To Me I (1980, dir: Anthony Spinelli, Dreamland) It's one of the best adult films of the 1980's and features the decade's top porn stars doing what they do best. John Leslie is the slick, smooth-talking, womanizing Jack and his slightly daft sidekick Lenny (Richard Pacheco in his breakout role) kick up a lot more lust than dust in this superb film with excellent acting and lots of provocative, eye-popping action! The irrepressible Juliet (Aunt Peg) Anderson steals the show (as usual) and Jesse St. James and Dorothy LeMay are each truly salaciously sizzling in this deliciously, lip-smackin' dirty-talkin' x-rated film! You'll love it!

10. Three Daughters (1986, dir: Candida Royalle) Feminists rejoice! You'll become immediately immersed in this intriguing, torrid tale of a mother and - you guessed it - her three daughters. The relationships are fascinating, believable and as real as a mainstream Hollywood production. Women love the tender, sensitively filmed sex scenes. It's an entrancingly beautiful potpourri of exciting erotica. When women ask for a film that they can enjoy - a film that has none of the blatant harshness of traditional adult films - this is the one I recommend . . . because this is the one they consistently appreciate. If you're looking for the ultimate feminist adult film, you can rest your eyes and arouse your senses - right here!

I was going to have you keep it G through R - non NC17, but now that you mentioned it, Shock was a dripper!

Kurt V - seeing that you are an in house expert in the adult genre - ever hear of a "blue" film called "The Life of Joanna"? Circa 1960's. I would like to see a copy - as the tale goes, it was filmed in my old college residence hall before the school owned it. Always wanted to see it greater lewd behavior occured there than we were responcible for.

I would like to offer two in quite different catagories:

In Kurt's catagory: THE MASSEUSE (1990)- starring Hyapatia Lee and Randy Spears. Quality scripted material here. It is also credited for helping a certain star into the business (her initials are J.J.) since it was supposedlty the first movie she ever watched. Just for that the world is a better place.


In the regular film catagory:

Stripes: I find this movie to be often overlooked by most. It does have some of the best one liners ever. Bill Murray was dead on in this one.
