Wandered off somewhere...

Subaru Performance
My daily driver...especially in winter...is a 2001 Subaru Outback. Now that it's out of warranty I feel OK about engine mods to improve performance. I feel certain that there must be a performance chip of sorts that could be installed to goose this dog up a bit. I asked the dealership but of course they blew me off.
Any ideas or experience out there?

WRX swap.
22B swap. B4 twin-turbo swap. check eBay for JDM motors, they are dirty-cheap.

Or just bolt on 60-80HP with an aftermarket turbo or supercharger. Keeps the excellent throttle reponse, driveability and gas mileage of your high compression 2.5 while giving you some decent power on top. I loved mine--the engine Subaru should have built. A WRX wasn't even close, but then the STI came along.
