Bill,

I crewed on a 70 footer years ago and that brings back memories! What is the ship doing and where is it going next?

Kinda cold part of the year to be out on that puppy! I liked the window stuffed with a rag in the back! At least it keeps the draught out.

Bill will you be involved in the refitting?

Wasnt this square rigger recently made seaworthy? I remember articles in the paper that it sat on the bottom in greenport for a few years.. while looking for a new home

Bill Verburg 11-20-2004 06:18 AM

Yes, it sat on the bottom for a while, ~$900,000 and a new bottom later it's been touring, currently in transit from the Great Lakes vie the Erie canal, stopping here to put the masts and rigging up, headed to the Caribean to make a new Disney movie.

That wheel is famous, it was used for every sail movie for decades, Gable, Wayne, you name the star they were filmed at it.
