man , that would go great in my pocket pc....

I've seen memory cards take a dive in price now that many chineese manufacturers are distributing more in the US..

This will go into the camera bag as it'll accomodate those really long video clips....who needs a camcorder? Perfect for storing the entire US map if you have GPS/Pocket PC combo.

Rick,

I have a Garmin SP3 with the old stick memory. Really pissed that Garmin now uses normal memory with the new units and no way to upgrade my current unit. Its a great idea and memory really has come down lately in prices.

Now to just get the price on flat panel monitors down!

Joe, Check www.slickdeals.net. Many times they have killer deals of flat panel monitors.

Is the stick memory a Garmin only product?

Rick,

Yea, its an in-house type of thing that you can only get from Garmin but we are finding them on Ebay now for a lot better price. Guess they got a lot of flak about the situation and now are using the commercial stuff.

Just bought a 20" ViewSonic and using a triple flat screen setup at home now. Have a 17" and a 15" all hooked up to the same computer and it works great, just wish all of the screens were 20! Nothing like it for multi-tasking once you get used to it.

Rick,

Thats the one! About as wide as a watch band and two inches +/- long.

If you are brave, pop one apart and figure out a interface with a newer style memory chip and you could be the next owner of the 910 they are all talking about on the main page!

I used to see generic Garmin memory on Ebay, but haven't seen it in a while. My eMap has all of 8mb, which covers Phoenix, but I have to swap maps whenever I go out of town.

In defense of Garmin, I was pleasently surprised with their service recently. My MetroGuide software got mixed up with a bunch of old stuff we sent to Goodwill. I called Garmin asking if there was an easy way to move the software from my old computer to my current machine. They said if I had proof of purchase they'd sell me the latest version for $15 plus shipping. I was shocked!

Lee,

I have a 32 meg, two 64 megs, and one 128 meg chips, so am covered but sure wish that there were other options for my Street Pilot 3.

Called them a couple of weeks ago when I found out they came out with a updated map version. I had upgraded in July or so for $150 and the new version came out 5 weeks later!

The guy confirmed my serial number and told me that he was sorry that no one had told me about the newest upgrade in the pipe, then sent me the newest version for free! Excellent customer support and one of the reasons why I own 3 Garmin GPS's!

Lee,

Might be talked out of the 32 meg if I can find it! You know my direct email so send me a note. Flying tomorrow and busy today, can look for it next week.

Joe
