I am fully aware that he has taken some nice brow beatings, but I would argue that no one has ever evoked such a response from our otherwise civil members before. He is the new variable.

Fintstone -- OK, you're to my right. Well to my right, perhaps. And we have different senses of things generally. But... sense of humor?!? 952 is good "for a laugh or two" ? Really? A derisive laugh, but that's not a laugh that makes you feel good for anything.

Put it this way. My undergrad had an honor code ... strictly enforced ... by the students. The school took 25 people a year and was serious as a heartattack.

Over a long weekend (this was a nerd factory, so everybody stayed to do work) we found out that a student had stolen very very expensive speaker cables from another student. The dorm room doors had no locks, so you could go into any other student's room. Between the time the faculty left Thursday evening and they showed up again Tuesday morning, the Student Council voted to expel the student. Classes resumed Tues. AM with one fewer student and the faculty asked what happened, said "OK, if you didn't want him here he had to go." No more questions, no second guessing, no BS. He was gone.

952 is a combination unique for dearth of intellect, unprecedented lack of class and absolute deficit of interesting opinion. A blight on these boards.

I'm not sure, he left almost immediately. I was expecting a bunch of "new members" voting all of a sudden:) Heck maybe he is a man of his word? Like I said though, it takes all flavors. I don't mind a guy with his views here, just make a feable attempt at keeping it civil.

It's not my board and I don't make the rules, but I wouldn't mind if he came back in a few weeks if he cleaned it up a little. Debate is suppose to be engaging and stimulating, I saw none of that.

Seriously, I felt kind of stupid for my little vote-off-the-island stunt. I just got fed up with him and made a stupid move. Seems his juvenile antics brought out the same in me. It won't happen again.
Anyway we'll see if he's a man of his word as it's been over the three hours now and he clearly lost(even with his little trick he was so proud of).

Sorry for wasting space, hopefully it has a happy ending.

Once again, I am late to the party. I agree 952 has to be one of the most, if not the most, irritating trolls we have had on the board. But, except for his anti-American diatribe, his attitude and language is no worse than a number of others that post here. If we can't handle the antics of 952, then I say we are no better than he is by trying to ban him. I say let him stay.

I have dropped it and had no intention of reposting, but I want to make one point clear. He is not (to my knowledge) "banned". We had a gentlemans agreement, that's all.

For that matter this thread, and the one that 951.5 started in the same idea can and should be gone, and as long as we are hitting the delete key, take the damm "why is America hated" thread off along with the "NZ home of sissies" and get on with something positive.

Believe that 951.5 has been cooled off for a bit and hopefully will settle down for a while.
