wait ... they have "basic principles" to consult?

What focus group did such "basic principles" result from?

I got to the end and wondered if it was going to have a point, or get funny (and where the last 2 minutes went - it was really short).

Mind you, I'll have an inherent bias rendering me incapable of watching it objectively ;)

Funny that's like me posting "Republicans guide to intellence"

Or slide to fascism, < the new nazi rednecks

Or how about "fall of the republic" < George Bush administration or a new Star Wars title?

Speaking of Star Wars didn't the Empire start out the same way this presidental monkey's did?

Red, you may want to keep in mind that fascism and nazism were leftest movements.

Which is relevant how? (and I haven't even bothered to look up whether it's even true or not.)

Relevant that Red has not shown any ability for self-deprecation or humor. He is so blinded by self-righteous indignation that he can’t get his facts straight. “slide to fascism, < the new nazi rednecks” is something a right wing extremist might say to a left wing radical.

"Red, this is the millennium falcon calling, we will be over Arizona tonight, please join our mission." You are off your rocker, dude.

Hal. Liberals want to regulate business. It is conservatives who want to regulate people. Now tell me again about fascism and naziism being liberal notions. Or maybe read another book. They're all different, so you have to read several for what we call "perspective."

Halm 11-30-2004 04:00 PM

Super, you are absolutely correct in certain instances but I don't think so in the big picture. Both parties get upside down on some issues from time to time. Using a larger paint brush, liberals believe that they know what is best for the individual. Conseratives believe in the inherent ability of every man to rise as high as they desire.

As for fascism and nazism, I was not saying that they were in lock step with liberalism. Rather that they arose from left wing European extremist. Thus they are simply the "black sheep" of the liberal family. And to be clear, I am in no way associating ANY American liberal with nazism and fascism.

If you look close, you'll notice this is from a German website. So the odds are it was posted by some lefties poking some fun at themselves.
