Is Los Angeles Showing Us the End of the American Dream?
Written by Isaac Strahl
Sunday, December 05, 2004 If the city of Los Angeles is any indication, the American Dream may be coming to an end, writes Nicholas Stix. The massive influx of immigrants, many here illegally and many illiterate in both English and Spanish, does not bode well for the country. Not only do these people require more from the public service sector, they contribute very little to the tax base. Are we on our way to becoming a large Mexico? We have provided a link should you wish to read the entire article.. ''As the sayings go, as Los Angeles goes, so goes California; and as California goes, so goes the nation. If the deterioration of the Left Coast’s multicultural paradises is permitted to continue apace, all of America will soon look just like them. ''For the past 15 years or so, radical multiculturalists have gleefully predicted that by the year 2050, whites will be a minority in America. Actually, with the 80 percent increase in illegal immigration since Pres. Bush’s December, 2003 announcement of his amnesty proposal, whites could be a minority as soon as 2030. In Los Angeles, they already are. ''At present, L.A. is only 29.7% non-Hispanic white. (And only 10.9% black; the black middle class is engaging in 'black flight.') Only 59.1% of its residents were born in America, an increasing proportion of whom are the 'anchor babies' of young Mexican women, who entered the U.S. illegally for the sole purpose of giving birth, in order to exploit social services.….'' If the USA does not stop the influx of illegal immigration..we will be overwhelmed by people seeking a better life than they had back home...it really is a matter of population pressure...The USA does not have the resources including money to support this invasion of illegals..and ultimately the USA will become a 3rd world country...with enclaves of a few very wealthy behind guard gates and a majority of very poor people. The American way of life is being directly threatened...

Actually steve - there as an artcile in the LA times recently stating stats that only about 50% of LA's adult working population were literate in English. So it's probably worse.

In 15 years I'll have paid off the mortgage and be ready to retire, such as it will be, I hope I can still get a high $ for my LA area house, so I can leave. The sad truth is that the politicians are working harder and harder to make LA a haven for poor illiterate immigrants and debase the entire system by dragging down the income and education levels of the area. Notice I said area, not "community".

What's sad is that certain influential interests do not want to slow immigration - legal or illegal. Where else would they get all the cheap labor?
