UN Corruption
|
Come on .... what's 21-billion-with-a-B-dollars amongst friends? That's how much we know - so far - was skimmed off the program by Saddam (in part to revitalize his weapons programs). This is a HUGE story and I think we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg right now. Despite the corruption, France and Germany have already lined up in support of Annan and the UN.

What do you think the odds are that Clinton (no, the other one) will still want Annan's job after this whole oil-for-food thing hits the fan? Will he ride to the rescue, or just skip it? I can't understand why any ex-politico would want that job....

Clinton thrives on that kind of attention. He loves to look like the hero, and it's not like Annan's job was that difficult. Clinton really did have a gift for being able to connect with people, and he's a smart guy, I think he'd do a decent job. Besides, he's probably seen the way Annan was able to sweep sexual harassment charges under the rug... you know that got Clinton's attention. :p

the whole planet is corrupted, LOL! :)

Presently watching the History Channel ( I think it should be renamed the Hitler channel) regarding Switzterlands so called neutrality in the second world war and their complicity in hiding billons of illicit funds plundered from vanquished countries and of course the Jews. To this day much of the funds are still unaccounted for and has been the Swiss's dirty little secret over the years. There was also the idea in post WWII Germany, that of the fourth Riech, a sort of underground version of the third, an idea which who really knows, maybe a movement or at least a sentiment that still persists in the hearts of Germans to this day. Germany has been prettly instrumental in proliferating nuclear technology in the middle east and seem to have little regard for US interests if not a downright contempt.
