A guy named Tim Bands at Brad Barnnets Mustang site did some photoshop touch-up to my white-out mark-up. Could I run a design firm for free off the internet?:D
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1103130208.jpg Hey, we all know the Mustang side scoop is a remant of the original mid-engined show car of the early 1960's. However many peoplle have turned them into functional read brake cooling ports. My question is what is the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG from the January issue of Automobile Magazine doing with a side scoop? bet it's not just for looks. Link below in case the picture does not load. http://automobilemag.com/photo_gallery/sports_cars/0412_mercedes_benz_clk_dtm_amg_photo_gallery/ |
The side scoops are probably inspired from the racing version. Those cars look b!tchin!
JohnT, As for the mini van comment... If you placed Micheal Shoemacker in the mini van and you in the '55 coupe, would there be a chance? Now about two equal ability drivers, one in a spyder and one in a mini van? The civic hatchback has always been one of my favorite looking/sporty economical cars. I would own one for sure. But comparing your 911 to a civic? Your stock 911, in the hands of a person who can take 911's to the limit and back, would do very well against your civic despite how new your civic is. RWD rear engines have many more tricks up their sleaves than FWD front engine cars. Its simple physics. |
You're right BigD9146gt, the driver alone will win over the vehicle in most situations (except the 1/4 mile, but who counts turns:)).
I only compare the Civic and the 70T to a couple round trips from the Bay area to San Luis Obisbo alone highway1(a recomended drive). Both were worn out, the 911 much more so, but FWDs are more familiarly predicable with e-braking and diff/tire vibration than the 911 with the f'ed up (new and expensive!!!) alignment. I really didn't worry about tearing the front end off the civic though, mabye that's what made it a better driver? Modern FI have all the advantages over carburators. Each to their own I guess. Form doesn't always equal function. Satisfaction doesn't always equal money. To each their own. Don't eat the yellow snow....etc |
I count turns damn it! My girlfriends dad always gets pissed every time he tries to bring up American muscle cars, Nascar or drag racing around me. I keep my mouth shut in the beginning, but everytime he's gotta try and downplay the power of the Porsches or German cars in general because he know's i'm a deutch finatic. I laught, and explain quarter miles are as complex as putting a monkey inthe seat of a rocket and pushing the "go" button.
I used to be a carburator nut. But after taking a few fuel injection classes and driving a 914 with a 3.2 motronic injected motor, i'm hooked on FI. Carbs have their place, and sometimes are a better choice when doing custom engine work and lack of funds will not extend for an $8000 motek setup. But a FI system will always be the most fuel efficient for cruizing or gettin on it. |
37mpg combo, 100+mph, room for toolchest or 4 passengers ain't nuntin. As a daily it's hard to beat, but,...But that's waay off the thread subject, sorry kach22i....
The drawings are niice, and original lines are kept throughout the chassis. Actually a pretty nice design variation and a good looking vehicle. [cynicism part] Even for a fix-or-repair-daily/f'd over rebuilt dodge/found on road dead........ ............with a history of flat-out LEMON RECALLS for stoopid MAP sensor placement, wheel bearings, ETC, ETC,..... oh, did I forget another etc? |
You guys can go on comparing old to new tech all day long, don't bother me none.:)
I'll try to find that GrassRoots MotorSports article and post it later on. My new friend Tim put a few more of my comments into to photoshop + a few of his own, a real collaborative effort is brewing. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1103203776.jpg |
As long as your taken orders, any chance you can smooth the flares on the door panals? The sharp angles seem to take away the intent - also, replace the fake screens and just have it flow out. For some reason, American cars seem to need sharp edges. It would make it look like the high cheek bones of a potential mistress instead of a matchbox. Just a thought...

The guy doing the photoshop work (Tim) likes the 2005 Mustang as is. However he and or some others may take the challenge. I am told there is a dedicated photoshop /alternate universe dream section at Brad's site. I've seen some of the studies, very provocative in some cases, Cougars, Camaro's everything is game.
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/ I should warn you, a very vocal 30% of them are A-Holes overthere, telling them you own a Porsche brings out the Psycho in them. Some of the people are great though, and a couple own and love both Mustang's and Porsches.................kind of like here. |
passion is cool...disrespect deserves a b!tch slap. Funny thing about phones and keyboards, plenty of cover.
