I really hate Big 10 football and the lame teams around here. Grew up around and went to University of Georgia.....SEC at heart. Anyway, I was so shocked that someone was talking about NCAA soccer, I just had to drop that on you. USC is going to get their heads caved in. Bush better have a good game, becuase Lienart's really impressive 220 or so yards against a pretty pathetic UCLA has got OU really excited. Anyway..... Go Gauchos!!!

Wasn't talking smack....was trying to be funny.
The fact that UCSB GOT there shocked me.....NCAA selection committee hosed them....I mean C'MON....#1 team in the NATION gets seeded #9? It was nice to see the flying tortillas after UCSB scored the tying goal. I HATE shootouts...let them play until they puke.....

Hey, didn't sports radio talk show host Jim Rome go there? I fully agree with the "play til they puke" sentement. I think they are excited about the Nat. Championship here in town, how could I tell. If its not the Pacers, nobody cares.

The Tortillas are a UCSB basketball tradition....they actually frisk people before games....not for guns or booze but for the Tortillas. They get tossed when there are bad calls on the floor. Lemme tell ya....those suckers can fly and really sting (if they are a bit stale) when ya whacked upside the head.
Jim Rome....started here in Santa Barbara....I hear he is not too happy with the experince for some reason.

Ahhhh....I...I think I might have gone there for school....it's by the beach right....if I recall they made a big bonfire outa the Bank of America building a coupla times..

UCSB in a non-drinking related championship? Say it aint so. I thought the only thing UCSB was known for was drunken party girls and weekly attendance by porn producers coming on campus for new "talent." What has happened to the sports community to allow such a travesity?
On second thought, who wouldn't root for drunken party girls and porn producers.... GO GAUCHOS!

Due to a conservative new chancellor who made it his personal crusade to change the culture of UCSB, on and OFF campus! He teamed up with the local PD to instill new draconian police-state rules. All greek houses are DRY! All their parties are DRY! Even parties in the student town of Isla Vista next to UCSB are DRY! The police can enter ANY house without a warrant and issue $3000 tickets to everyone living there (each) if they find liquor at a party and a single person under 21 in attendance! Halloween used to be the biggest party of the year bringing in over 50,000 people from out of town. A couple years ago with the new overlord in power, it was killed off completely. This year it recovered somewhat because Halloween fell on a weekend, but nowhere near the previous glory we used to have...
