Bourne Supremacy. Yeah, it was "supreme" at something all right....

ugh, that was bad. Real bad. Can someone tell me why the damn camera would not stop jerking/herking around? Oh wait, I know, we can thank MTV for that little nugget of artistic influence. A little of that effect is fine but give it a rest once every few minutes!

And I loved the "underwater-mouth-to-mouth-resuscitation" scene  .

Just watched this the other night myself... that hectic camera crap has got to stop! If a director can't convey enough action and tension w/ a "still" camera, throwing an epileptic fit with it isn't going to add value.

Even the hand-to-hand stuff was filmed too close-up to really enjoy.

Agreed.

Rented it last night. I still have neck spasms from trying to follow the camera.

Fight scenes, OK. Gives a sense of chaos and anarchy. But when you're driving a car??? WTF

Don't they use SteadyCams anymore?

And the story was paper thin also.

It all started with NYPD Blue about 10 years ago, I believe. I hate that crap, too.

Double agreed. The "seizure-cam" technique is annoying, and over-used. Not sure about the NYPD Blue thing though, I think it first appeared on the show COPS :D

The books (there are 3) are MUCH better than the movie.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Cindy is a Migraine sufferer. Herky-jerky flicks can turn her into a mass of whimpering pain...

I agree. Sadly, I have always enjoyed the Ludlum books for a casual read.

A few weeks ago, I watched an older "Action" film (title escapes me but it was a good one). Interestingly, when I saw it the first time, I thought it moved right along. Seeing it now, it seems slow and deliberate.

I guess the film makers have to make every thing for the MTV Generation. Fast cuts, close shots, excessive motion.

I hate it. Take your time, show me the big picture, Fill in some details, let the action speak for itself.

Darn shame.... :(

Hell, I'm OK with COP'S version of "stumble-cam. At least it's a real chase of a real bad guy. Besides, I can honestly say that COPS is probably my "all-time" favorite show.

That is, as far as 'rehearsed" shows are concerned.

Nah, Motion's correct. NYPD Blues started that *****, and the show is still garbage. No matter what style something's shot in, it can't supplant the necessity of a good script.

The best "style" I've seen in a long time is the half-speed filming in El Mariachi and whatever style Spielberg used in Saving Private Ryan. And the steady cam scenes in Raising Arizona was terrific.

Of course "Noir" beats everything.

It was so good that I fell asleep in the theater....that didn't go down too well with whom I went to enjoy this new thrilling movie ......

The problem with the Bourne Supremecy I found was that nothing really happens. I really liked the first one, but with the 2nd I kept waiting for the movie and plot to actually start.

I liked the moive it was one of the better summer action blockbusters.
