Computer color output to monitor
My previous computer (HP media center edition) had it's hard drive fail a few weeks ago, and HP gave me a loaner computer, a HP m1080n Media Center edition. When I first started up the computer, and I noticed that the colors showing up on the monitor (Panasonic 32" HDTV) were way off. These are how the colors show up:
Supposed to be: Showed up as: Green Yellow Red Black I've tried going to control panel, and "appearance" under "display", and changing my color bit to 256 colors, but that doesn't work. I also went to the monitor setting and tried adjustting the R G and B level colors. No help. Has anyone had a similair problem? If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks.

Check these two things - make sure your monitor cable is plugged in properly, check the pins to make sure none are damaged. See if the monitor has a reset option or button and use it to restore to factory default settings and your problem should go away. It sounds like a hardware issue, not software. Another suggestion would be to try a different monitor and or monitor cable. Are you using a DVI cable or an analog one?

I have had similar things happen due to monitor cable damage. The hardest one to diagnose was when one of the pins in the connector would get pushed back up into the connector instead of seating in the appropriate hole. Had to pull/slide it out with a pair of jeweler's needlenose pliers so it was even with its fellows before reconnecting it to the video card.

I checked my cable, and one of the pins is missing! I'll get a new cable tonight ans see how it works.

Right click on your desktop>choose properties>settings>find the advanced button and click on it>find the color management tab and click on it>in the window their will be a "color profiles currently associated with this device>highlight whats in there and click remove>apply>ok. You might have to restart your machine. Good luck
