Getting my Permit tomorrow

Tomorrow I am getting my Drivers Permit (liscence that says I can drive only with an adult(s) over the age of 25). That means I will be able to cruise around in the Porsche with my Mom and Dad. Well, I'll be going to the DMV tomorrow morning at 7:30, get my permit, take one session of Drivers Training, and I can go out on the road! I am pretty excited that I will finally be able to legally drive.
My dad has let me drive sometimes on the streets snce I was 10, so I am comfortable with driving. I've only had the Porsche for 4 months, and I am eager to get out and drive that.

Just thought I'd post my happiness :).

Congrats! What part of the Bay Area are you in. (I might want to wave or just stay out of your way. ;)

Thanks Moses. I'm located in Moraga. Don't worry, when I turn 16, I'll invite all of you Porsche folks in the bay area over for a run sometime in June, and Moses, you're already invited. :)

Hi Matt! What a great way to celebrate Christmas (or whatever you observe). Please be careful 'out there', and respect the car and what it can (and can NOT) do. Experience is a great teacher, and just like Porsche....there is no substitute! So please be extra cautious and watch out for the other IDIOTS on the road...even if you're doing all the right things...they can ruin your day. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I just got back from my driving lesson which was 2.5 hours. When I went to the DM , there were hardly no people in line, and I passed all my tests, got my thumb print and photo taken, and got a permt. Late this morning the instructor came and let me drive on the streets, highways, and practicing parking, which was a lot of fun. It was pretty simple since I have been driving for a couple of years. The car (Ford Escort) was very uncomfortable, and literally was a "box" with not much power. Overall it was a good experience.

Congrats! The two biggest peices of advice I can give is take a high speed driving course and don't drink and drive. These may seem obvious, but they weren't to me 20 or so years ago when I started driving and I learned the hard way. Luckily nobody got hurt due to my stupidity.
