any fun RE-gifting stories?
merry Christmas!
my nextdoor neighbor left me a very nicely wrapped box. upon closer inspection it has a couple's name, and a date. i think he gave me the gift that everyone gets from a wedding. the little something (wedding favor) for all the guest to remember the happy day. very funny, i will toss it into the garage. hopefully, it wont jinx anyone. cliff |
...wait untill you re-gift something that an astute shopper realizes was last years special at such and such store... :D
How many blue-glass fish candelabra's does one person really need? Prime re-gifting material... |

About 8 years ago I received an Old Spice holiday gift set from a former employee. There's along story behind the reason for the gift but I won't go into that. Anyway, I saved and regifted to someone else in the office who was aware of the story behind the gift. Since then it has transferred throughout the office for 8 years. Those that haven't received it are rather upset and hopeful this year will be the year.

I don't know how long it has been around but in the Idaho PCA region I was a member of there was a bra made of coconuts that shows up at every auction or Christmas party. It has actually started to make quite a bit of money for the club.

I gave as a gag this flaming hot pink shirt to a male coworker who imediately regifted it to our boss. He regifted to another coworker and it became a gag. The shirt is still making the rounds 3 years later

Believe this or not. An older eccentric friend of my better half's gave us a lifelike cardinal (bird) that is made from rubber for a xmas gift. The thing is mounted on a wood stump stand and when a button is pushed it turns its head and chirps. When the other button is pushed it sings (and the beak moves) to the tune of .........."Groovin".......... awfull.
Must have been a re-wrap from another planet!! |

Are you serious??

Reuge is a Swiss Music movement manufacturer. Their product line covers music boxes to musical automata. One line they have is of singing birds which are very realistic and sing/whistle when their mechanical movement is wound. They are handmade and very expensive. If your singing cardinal has a Reuge label you might see it in a different light. :)

I'll check it out tonight and let you know.

If it's rubber it most likely isn't but hey ya never know.

Rick......................Turned that thing upside down to see wut-up. In bold print: Made in China for.............WALMART Inc.!!! HAAA!
I'm so sure that hideous thing was worthless until I then realized what a great 'gag' conversation piece it will make!! BUT...what if it comes alive in the middle of the night; like in the horror flicks and flies upstairs and tries to peck my eyes out?? |
LMAO.... Now that's scary.
