Flight of the Phoenix

Can you believe they've tried to re-make FLight of the Phoenix???

Only Hollywood could remake that movie and somehow incorporate Tech 9 carrying Thugs and 300 lb gasoline explosions.

What's next?
The Poseidon Adventure remake with Paris Hilton and Alec Baldwin?

I can't believe they remade Willie Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

My wife has a theory that Hollywood has already made all the original movies they are just about ever going to make ... practically nothing but remakes or sequels from here on out.

She might be right ...

I loved the original! Someone on here told me a while back that they were doing a remake so I looked for it, very dissapointed when I saw MadMax dirtbikes (and I like dirtbikes) and all sorts of "spice it up" BS the original never needed. I'll probably see it when it comes out on video, but only to laugh I'm afraid.

Willie Wonka is one of my favorites, but I have heard that the remake "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" which is incidentally the original book that Willie Wonka was based on, is really good.

I'm just not even going to legitimize the remake. Not going to give it a viewing. I may rent the original though, and watch it.

The original seems to be on all the time late. I bet I've watched it four times this year.

Wasn't that a TV movie a few years ago??

Business situations often remind me of movie scenes, and FOP comes into my mind a lot. At the end, when Steward wrests control from the other officer by sitting in the pilot's seat, and makes decisions about those seven explosive cartridges..... Decides to use two for carbon removal. That's like taking a day to get organized. The engine started with the next charge.

"They" have to remake everything and put in a cast of politically correct and "diverse" people to attract the "Brittney Spears and Snoop Dog" crowd. What about the remake of the Manchurian Candidate? Why would you have to remake a classic movie? Shameless opportunism and crass commercialism and pandering to idiots, if you ask me (and nobody did).

Completely agree--they took a classic character study film that was propelled by a top-notch ensemble cast actually ACTING and turned it into a big-budget special effects/explosions/united against marauding thugs junkfest. Completely destroyed the concept of the original.

11 year old boy wanted to see the new one. I got the original from netflix, and made him watch it. He's not as interested in the new one now.
I fell asleep...but I had seen it many times before :)
Next, Gunga Din...
