tsunami relief donations

Fellow Pelican forum members and guests, I'll make this short and to the point.......

I'm collecting small relief donations ($20 or less - the amount is entirely up to the donor) for tsunami victims, those whose suffering is now becoming manifest. All funds collected (net of paypal fees) will be forwarded to well known, effective, non-denominational, international relief agencies. I will also contact several corporations that have pledged to match private donations, effectively doubling our contributions.

I've setup a Paypal account to accept donations tsunami_relief@telus.net (underscore between tsunami and relief). I won't be able to issue any sort of tax receipt. I'll periodically append and update the thread with the names/PP usernames of donors that contribute, without mention of the size of the donation. If you prefer to remain anonymous, just write in the comments section of the Paypal form stating so.

If you can give, please do. If not, that's O.K. too. Maybe you can spread the word to other members and friends, family, co-workers, etc..

Thanks for your time and thanks to Wayne who pre-approved this post and made this space available.

Thanks to the following that have donated:

I know it's a hard to give after spending so much over the holidays; but any amount will help the young, elderly and the destitute.

When all is said and done, I'll post the total received and the name of the relief organisation(s) to which donation(s) were made. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Mike
