How on earth did the blood reach all the way to the back of the SUV. That must have been some impact. Also, the airbags should have gone off in a collision like that.

airbags work on inertia, so it makes sense that they wouldn't go off... it'd take a helluva deer to actually force a car to a sudden stop quick enough to set those babies off.

There was another thread on this, and Z-Man deleted the pix; I see why.

Z-man must be out to dinner, this is the exact same link that got removed from the other "deer hit" thread 3 days ago.

For anyone who doesn't get to see it, deer got cut in half by A-pillar and entire contents of deer wound up inside of vehicle. I believe that's the heart and possibly the liver in the rear cargo area.

Reading through the forum, it appears that the deer was hit by a minivan that bounced the deer up into the air, which explains how the SUV hit the deer up along the top of the windshield.

I don't get it:
1. How could there be so much deer blood in the car, but both halves of the deer were on the hyway? (Wouln't one part of the deer end up in the cargo area? - or break the back glass?)

2. How is there blood on the back of the driver's seat? Wouldn't the driver have gotten it in the face? The only way I could see the way it turned out is if he/she leaned into the passenger seat.

3. Is that the deer's heat next to that cooler thing?

I moved to an area out in the far suburbs. I see dead deer all the time and having not grown up with them nearby am deathly afraid of hitting one.

Folks: is there really a need to post graphic pictures of a deer accident here? It really serves no purpose.
