Help with Google words for charity car raffle

I'm helping my daughter's school put on a car raffle. If you were trying to find a car and/or cash raffle, what would you search on?

How long will the Raffle run? It takes time for Google to either spider your site or for a submission to be accepted....unless things have changed recently.

I'd just look up techniques for "google bombing". You can probably find it using google.

Google bombing is passe`. They're onto it. Changed the rules. Look up Search Engine Optimization, on Google .
Very much art and science. True, it can take weeks for the bots to hit you. Make the site robot friendly.

This is searches done on Overture. I don't think you'll have very good luck with Search Engine Optimization trying to market a raffle. Its just not a popular search, more of a impulse sale. You'd be better off doing local spots.

Yep. Plus, by the time you got the SEO running, it would be too late and cost too much.

This is a door knocking, newspaper ad , telephone solicitation, sit in front of the grocery store sale.

OK... I'm a step below novice when it comes to this stuff. Another guy who is at least a novice is advising us. My understanding of his explanation of what we're doing it buying words on Google. Is that different than what you're talking about as far as SEO?

Put up a dutch auction on ebay, enough tix that people should be able to easily get them for the "normal" price. And if they are more, then what the heck, its charity right? Even better, put blocks of 10 or so of them up dutch and use different description text, etc.

No, its the same, but as a marketing expert, I would heavily advise against it. If you would like to PM me, I'd be glad to give you a few ideas that may help out.

SEO is Search Engine Optimization. Keep in mind Google Ad Words is only a 1/3 - 1/2 of the web. There's also Overture (Yahoo, MSN, and CNN) and Findwhat (CNET’s Search.com, Excite, Webcrawler, MetaCrawler, Dogpile and Microsoft Internet Explorer Autosearch).

So, with Google, you only get a small piece of the Search Engine Pie. Furthermore, SEO is for Point-of-Sale advertisement. I would not catagorize a raffle as a POS item, but an impulse item...
