I like this:
“the Panel cannot conclude that a political agenda at 60 Minutes Wednesday drove either the timing of the airing of the segment or its content.” Naaah, it was all just one big coincidence ...... |
Fire the 'independant panel' as well. Or maybe there should be another panel setup to review that panels' investigation.

Cool,
Now lets hope many more firings take place. Like all those journalist that helped sell this country a war. IE WMD. |
The journalists DIDN'T sell the war - they tried to find a way around doing just that. WMD is a bunch of bull - protecting oil & trying to stabilize the middle east was the reason. A good reason.
But...whoops, didn't work out so well. It is too bad that the stupid do-gooders have essentially *forced* our leadership to lie. AND around we go, and endless loop of no right answers. |

Damn right they 'lied'. Not an admission, either. WMD is a side reason, going in & hoping to hell that some were found.
And the do-gooders made them do it. Ever read any George Orwell? Not necessarily "made". But as a consequence of accountability - "gotta find WMD to get the media idiots off our asses" - |
CBS President Moonves explained in a memo: "Dan Rather has already apologized for the segment and taken responsibility for his part in the broadcast. He voluntarily moved to set a date to step down from the CBS EVENING NEWS in March of 2005... after examining the report and thinking about its implications, we believe any further action would not be appropriate."
So in effect, Rather was fired over this incident! Never thought I'd see the day. |
See....BS!
