Anyone Drive a 330ci with Performance Package
I am thinking about an M-3, but also a 330ci with Performance Package, I have found a used on in Northern California, and was wondering your thought.

eh..i wouldnt bother.
Buy another Porsche. You'll be happier:D |
That car is so much fun - I drove it at Savage BMW. I was doing about 65 mph on the back roads behind the dealership and I saw a speed bump ahead and I start to lift off the pedal and the dealer said to floor it. I hit the bump at about 80 mph and the car just coasted right over it. If they were not $43,000 I would have bought one in a heartbeat. Is this going to replace both your cars or are still going to keep the Honda as a daily driver.

I am not sure, I have found a used one with only 6,400 miles up North.
I am not sure what I want, just looking at all the options. Did you go to the car show? Michael |
330i with sports package would have me think a long time before buying an e46M3. It has great power and handling is awesome.
great car, great performer, not a porsche but then again, nothing is like a Pcar so no point to compare. in my view 330i is the only "true to the spirit of BMW" model left in the line up of the current models. |
My father has one. Its a great car. The shifter is a bit notchy, but compared to your 84, will feel great. He has not had any problems with it at all.

I drove a new one not too long ago. It's not as heart stopping compared to the E46 M3, but it's awesome. I like the way the stock exhaust sounds, and the suede steering wheel was really nice as well.

There was a lot of talk about that model over on the E46Fanatics BB a year or so ago. The general opinion was that the extra $$$ were not worth it and the 6 speed ratios were not properly spaced so that a normal 5 speed was actually more fun. BTW, I have had a '03 325Xi and now a '03 X5 with the 3.0. No comparison betweenthe 2 motors. The 3.0 is the only way to go.

Thanks for the input, I am looking at getting it with an auto, as it would be my daily driver, and can't live with a manual.

Michael,
I went to the car show on Sunday, it was a blast. The best way though in my opinion to experience a BMW is to drive one through dealer test drive or through this. The tiptronic is great plus you can have a great deal of fun with it. In this month's Panorama Porsche magazine, their is a great article on how to drive tiptronic better. Chris |
If you are looking for the best bang for your buck on an E46 Bimmer, I would go with a 328ci with the sports package. ;)
