If you think that an original 904 or Carrera Speedster is expensive, price one of these sometime. Well North of $10 million:

My personal favorite, a Zagato bodied SZ:

Kind of bad placement in that picture having the sign pointing to it that says it's a toilet, though! :D

Good-bye Porsche-Guy.

Don't tell me I did not warn you.

These cars are the worst made machinery IN THE WORLD! Regardless of whether some stock broker paid $10m for a toilet.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALPHAS AND JAGUARS FOREVER!!!

(Did I mention I grew up with an italian auto electrician for a father?

The 105 series alfas are the only cars that have soul like a 911. If they had continued to develop it the aircooled 911s would have a competitor. I had this one for almost 20 years. I wish circumstances hadn't forced me to lose her.

Oh man - that's a bad bob-cut.

I'm a fan of the older Alfas, and have owned a 1969 Boattail Spyder (1750 injected) for about 10 years. I've had no major problems with it (other than the bakelite distributor coming apart once -- and it's inside this next-to-impossible to remove shroud, which is itself nestled snugly under the fuel injector lines...)

I think it's a fine car, with plenty of soul ... and an antiquated, diesel-truckesque injection system. So I'll change to carbs when some impossible-to-obtain piece in the injection system goes.

I like the 1750s particularly. Get yourself as nice a specimen as you can find, pref. from an Alficionado, so it's been sorted and pampered.

I'd avoid Jaguars -- too many friends with too many heartache/headache stories, and the guy who does my body/paint work (who is very very good) tells some of his funniest/worst (depending on who's writing the checks) stories about Jags.
