Those crazy Brits
Holy crap. I can't believe someone could be this stupid.

It is supremely stupid, and regrettable. Does this kid not have a "minder" to keep him from such episodes?
The most amazing piece of this story to me is that after Harry issued an apology, the Reform Synagogues of GB and the Board of Deputies of British Jews (as well as other British Jewish org's) accepted his apology. I can't imagine most American Jewish organizations accepting someone's apology and moving on, when there is so much media spotlight to steal and an opportunity to employ "disappointed" moral superiority to demand some token act of contrition. Hands up who never did anything stupid when they were 20 !!
Just as I thought ...... no takers !!!! We were fortunate that we weren't followed around by photographers who were keen to record our every mistake and screw up. Cut the kid some slack...He said he was sorry. |
It looks like he was just trying to be funny, but it was a stupid move considering that all eyes in England are on the Royal Family.

kid's are kids, fair point.
this guy is in the limelight and he knows that people are going to be watching him. as has been said that sad sicofants around him should have advised him against it. nothing wrong with a german uniform per se, but the swastica is something totally different. also the point is "the royals" are supposed to be representing britian, mind you they are the most famous dysfunctional familly on the planet second only to the Simpsons ! I think as a joke it was'nt very funny, and as punishment he should go on this planned trip to meet the survivors of the holocaust and see what it actuall meant to millions of people to be under the jackboot of facism. |
How about ignoring the spoiled brat's little grab for attention? He is not a stupid man, so I don't think this can be written off as a stupid kid mistake. He knew he would get a rise out of people. That he succeeded so spectacularly is a sad testament to the predictability of the very establishment he was trying to shake up. Sometimes it is appropriate to just ignore such an in-your-face gesture and say "yeah, whatever. Cute. Now go back to whatever sad little existance prompted you to do this and leave the rest of us alone".

He's an inbred royal, what do you expect?

At 18 I was legally considered an adult and I could drink, vote, get married, be held criminally liable for my poor choices etc.... At 20 he's not a kid and should know better. Spoiled, bored, little rich brat who has nothing to worry about because from day one till the day he dies someone will be there to wipe his a55. He gets no sympathy from me. Oh yeah, he can keep his life, I would'nt take it if you paid me, how utterly unfulfilling it will be if he chooses to do nothing of substance with it and his claim to fame is the embarrasement of his family and country. Someone hand me a Billy Beer. Scott |
"He's an inbred royal, what do you expect"
Don't think so - Hewitts son is the probably the least imbred of the currant royals. It was his half brother (William) who approved his costume. |
