Sorry, haven't driven either old or new 356 to compare. If someone wants to donate some seat time in an original, I'll be happy to post a comparison

Question: will the winner be accepted by the 356 group or sneered at for having a reproduction car, even if it is better than the original in some ways?

I have always drooled over the Beck 550. It makes sense to me to make a replica of a REALLY limited edition special car like the Spyder that a normal person could never think of owning, but a 356? I know they are getting much more expensive... With a well done replica of a 550 or a 904 or a Cobra, I get it, but a fiberglass 356 is always gonna be "just a replicar".
