I have the same Buggy! MP7.5 with K3 upgrades etc...

84CAB 01-20-2005 03:36 PM

what are K3 upgrades?

Looks like you have the RTR version right? It's a great buggy, but things will break. The Kanai version is MUCH more robust on some of the components like the diffs. Do a search for Kanai and you'll have plenty of reading material. Also if you're still using th estock motor you have NO IDEA have friggen fast that lil sucker can go!

its a stock RTR ...for now!! this is my first type of car like this so i have a lot to learn.. thanks for the info!

That looks like a gas-powered RC? I had an electric RC-10 when I was 16-17 in the mid-80s, saved up for it for a year. Man that was fun. I think it was before the gas-powered cars were affordable. I guess the technology has probably changed a bit.

I had one of those. Put a massive motor in it. Thing would do 0-50 in like 3 seconds... :)

Mine was the same chassis, but previous model I think. Can't remember what it was called. Put $500 in, sold for $200 when I lost interest.

same here..early eighties saved up for months and bought an R/C electric car, assembled it and wired the throttle wide open. trashed the car before i was able to save up the money to buy the transmitter to control it. i have wanted one ever since and made the mistake of going by the hobby store today to look. you see what happened!--it is gas powered BTW

I started with a HotShot back in the mid 80s.. fun fun fun...
then RC10s, Cats, RC10T2, Aircraft, Gliders, Boats.. all good fun.
never had a gas car tho... hmmm.. where is that shop these days?

I still have an original HPI RS4 Sport sitting in my room. Hasnt been run in about 2 years. Carbon Fiber Chassis (both upper and lower decks) 27 turn midnight motor with trinity armature. Oil shocks and different spring rates front and rear, with quite a few combos of foam tires (i used to do carpet racing)

LSC 7.1 speed controller ($150:eek: ) and a Novak AM reciever. Futaba heavy duty steering servo, and I used to have a Futaba Magnum Junior radio, but it fell off my shelf once and it broke the bottom piece:( .

Maybe I'll get back into it someday. They dont even make parts for my car anymore. Its 6 years old almost. Think its worth collectors status yet?
