Wow. That kicked a$$. Soundtrack wasn't bad, either.

Must suck to be on the receiving end.

Looks like Mike Dillon's work! He makes the best reloaders in the world and backs them up with a unlimited, no questions asked guarantee. Not happy with anything on the press, send it back and he will overhaul it for free, as many times as you want it done.

He does a bit of work with the DOD and makes mini-guns as shown in the video. Has his own Huey and Loach as well as a Pinto to fly around and test things out with...

Nice guy, lives and works not far from here. Anyone landing at Scottsdale airport, he bases his helo's out of there and the HQ is at the North end of the runway.

So what exactly is a Mini-gun? What does it shoot, and why is it called "mini"?

Go to the link I gave; it explains the difference between electric guns, chain driven guns, gatling guns, mini, Vulcan........................plus there are links to more videos.

In the Japanese link there is a video of a N. Korean spy ship getting blasted/destroyed in 2002.................have yet to down load that one - but it's on my list.;)

Mini-gun fires NATO 7.62x51 rounds.
Called the "Mini" becuase of it's big brother, the 20mm "Vulcan cannon"

Are those SOBs incendiary bullets???!!?//

Craig 930 RS 01-25-2005 09:08 AM

Look like most of the cars were GM products. That's a good thing ;-)

I was thinking that in the back of my mind too.

Typicaly it's every 5th round...................they may of made all of them tracers, just for the show of it.

Looking closely at the video (in my memory/mind) I had expected to see a little more damage considering the output of the gun............mini NATO 7.62mm/30 caliber or not.

While the mini gun is pretty awesome, the helicopter is vulnerable to a shoulder-mounted surface-to-air missle.

Is this the same gun used in the Schwarzenagger movie, "The Predator"?

The helicopter is vulnerable peroid...............speed is almost always the best defense.

The soundtrack was nice, however you must hear it ripping away to get the full affect.
Last year at an automatic weapons show I was first exposed. At 20+ feet away and wearing ear protection I must have jumped a foot off the ground. My orientation reflex was unsupressable.

350HP930 01-25-2005 02:43 PM

I think some of the rounds might also have been explosive unless some of the cars were packed with stuff that would go boom.
