Just as a question -- when has negotiation with these type of states worked? Ever? Absolutely not w/ NK; not with Iraq (oh, but with enough time it would've ... yeah); hasn't worked with Iran. Words haven't kept India and Pakistan from splitting atoms with malicious intent, etc.

Words didn't work w/ Syria either, no matter how much lib-spin our media puts on that particular situation.

Leverage works, not words.

If making the Mullahcracy believe that we'd come in and eradicate them adds leverage (whether we're going to or not at this point) then it's for the good. Lean on them. Same for Syria.

Europe has big $ business and oil with Iran. Europe figures the US will always do the dirty work and they can keep their business ties. Europe doesn't even have the military might or $ to stage a war. The current game is to get Iran to do the Libya act. Israel will be quiet due to US telling them that an attack by them will set back US politics in the region. The Ukraine election was probably noted by Iran. Once Iran is fixed Syria should collapse.

for entertainment anyone can watch what the US does concerning Egypt. That game will probably start when Condi gets the State Dept act together. When Turkey was policing the whole area during the Ottoman Empire days they did an effective job. Some war lords they would only visit once a year or two. If anyone caused a local prob or a disbelief on what Turkey said the rules were they were killed. When Egypt said no terrorist bs 10yrs ago they were serious. They had a bomb go off and the army went out nationwide and killed anyone even related to terrorist bs. Egypt's Murbarak sic hasn't had a prob since.

There is all kinds of democracy available. The name of the game is for the said country's population to be connected to the outside world. Since our President started this mideast policy the stock markets of old Europe and the Mideast have increased dramatically. Maybe not US money very much, but it's still big money from the locals.. meaning big money relative to their markets. A businessman making investments in an area that this country is cleaning up can't be stupid.

Foreign aid for example. We give Isreal about 4 Billion per year. With a population of 6.9 million that works out to about $5,800 that we give them per person per year!!! Whats up with that?

Of course, that's a relative bargain compared to Bush saying he want $800 Billion for the Iraq/Afgan war Iraq 25, 400,000 citizena, Afghanistan 28,513,000 CIA World Fact Book
That works out to about $14,800 per citizen of those two countries that were spending on the war.

The State of California (me actually, since I pay more than enough taxes to pay their tuition) spends $7,200 per child on K-12 education.

Oh, and I'm a Republican to boot!
