Would you do this for $37,000 ???

This guy rented out his forehead for advertising. $37k was the highest bid on EBAY for one month of display. Would you?

(Let's see, that's $370,000 per year with a two month rest...not bad)

No.

makaio 01-26-2005 05:57 AM

The worst part is he will not see all of the $37,000 per month, since he will have to claim it as income.

As obvious as this seems most people are walking advertisements already. Think about it.

Yeah, who's smarter: SnoreStop, or Nike, which has millions of dumb teenagers doing their advertising for free. Try asking a kid, "how much did Nike pay you to promote their brand?" After a few seconds of slackjawed staring, it usually dawns on them. :D

Porsche-O-Phile 01-26-2005 06:18 AM

Precisely. One of my standard outfits is a plain color t-shirt (long or short sleeve) or sweatshirt (sans logos) and jeans. I will occasionally wear sports jerseys for the teams of my choice, but that's about it. I do not like being anybody's walking billboard.

Exactomundo....from T-shirts and hats to handbags and jewelry.

This kind of money is probably a one shot deal. Novelty only lives so long.

Man, the Red Sox and the Porsche company should be paying me a bundle for advertising space...

lendaddy 01-26-2005 06:35 AM

Don't be jealous just cause he's making sweet Moolah with uncle Rico.

Not a bad idea and original thinking. $37k for one month will get a really nice older Porsche.

}{arlequin 01-26-2005 07:27 AM

bunch of playa haters :D

makaio 01-26-2005 07:51 AM

Lendaddy, that movie rocks! I just bought it yesterday. I can't believe it didn't get any academy nominations!

I won't wear any kind of corporate logo as part of my wardrobe..nor sports team etc.....The only deviation from my rule is a small Porsche pin in an otherwise logoless hat.

A shirt denoting a club that yu belong to, or maybe a charity might be different....

I don't find it to be the height of fashion to be a walking billboard..whoever came up with the concept deserrves to be in the advertising hall of fame.

Ones idenity is attached so closely to a corporate logo...Nope...

BigD9146gt 01-26-2005 10:09 AM

Yes, i need a 3.2 with all the injection, RSR shocks, Tarett sway bars, Fikses rims, tires, gauges by NHS, Quaife, and i'm sure i'm forgetting something else.

For $37K, minus tax and other standard government ass raping funds, my car will be complete, and i can start on the 66 911R.

Company whore for a month = Sweet ass ride... Where do i sign up?

See what happens...but keep us posted here :D

(I'll bet several others have jumped on the bandwagon)

I think this is how Jared from the Subway commercials started; though he didn't need to brand his forehead - or his stomach for that matter.

Overpaid Slacker 01-26-2005 02:32 PM

What, you can get paid for this kind of thing? Crap! I did this for free, just a week ago:

Maybe I could send an ex post bill?

I heard they had to move the SnoreStop logo slightly off center, to work around the big "L" in the middle.

M.D. Holloway 01-26-2005 04:56 PM

Absolutely! Heck - I do it everyday now with my company polo shirts and jackets.

How about the guys that bid their rides out to advertise - sorta like sponsorship but for the daily driver.

***** ! Thats a great idea! Thats how to get a another p-car! Get some magnetic ads and wear them during rush hour!

bluebullet 01-26-2005 05:28 PM

lol that guy looks like the type that would be the internet/webmaster/tech junkie that would do such a thing...
