Wooden Motor.

http://www.carcraft.com/thehistoryof/116_0502_wood/index.html

My commentary (so tabs doesn't get mad at me)

Here's a guy with Waaaaay too much time on his hands. Not as wacky as the guy who built the mini Ferrari, but still....

WHY?

I'd like to have the blown V-8 on my desk as a conversation piece. The website is not clear on pricing. Can you buy a running version of what you see?

I subscribe to a home machinist board and those guys build some amazing IC and steam engines. Many of them even do the casting in their shops. One day when I retire I plan to build a miniature 911 MFI motor.

WHY?
Because you can bore it out to a 404 with a hole saw. Can't do that with metal.

looks like he did.

14 years of work. Imagine the look on his face if it were to be slowly lowered into a tub of water before him.
