Big Weekend

This last weekend in LV was the BIG Weekend with regards to guns...Both the Wallace Beinfield Antique and Sporting Arms show at the Mandalay Bay and the Shot Show at the Convention Center were running....

Simply put either show would put you on overload with the amount of guns and variety available...

The Antique gun business is alive, well and prosperous...with prices reaching the stratosphere.....a Colt Calvary Single Action in 70% condition at $19,500.00 .....a 90% Military 1911 45acp in the 4XXX serial number range at $8500....a Sharps 1874 Long Range at $28,500.00 are just a few examples of what I mean....

And to drool over, one of the major Right Coast auctioneers has a superb collection of G&H rifles coming to auction in March, and one of his competitors has an outstanding array of early Colt autos up for auction in April....

2 of the G&H's I've been looking for, for at least 6 years....If I get them I will have one of the best if not the best 22 Hornet collection in the country....

These auctions are also featuring King Gun Sight Company conversions of Colt and S&W pistols as well...they too will make my day...

At the Shot Show I perused the Tactical Rifle and Custom Colt 1911 makers.....Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Ed Brown, H&S Precision, and Nesika.

My choich here is the Nesika Heavy Tactical with a Night Force Scope and an Ed Brown Custom 1911

www.edbrown.com and www.nesika.com

My poor ole Porsche will just have to wait awhile longer to be restored I'm afraid.....

I went to an antique gun show a while back. One guy had a large collection of Sharps on display. Lots of different calibers, types and finishes. Probably over a million bucks right there on display. Interesting thing was this display was across the aisle from a display of original Thompsons and near a display of English double rifles. Talk about sensory monetary overload.
