Liquid Aluminum Leak Stopper... snake oil?

Anyone ever heard of this stuff? My dad's 96 Corsica has a bad head gasket, apparently, and a mechanic friend of his suggested he give this leak stopper stuff a try. It's from http://barsproducts.com/index1.html and according to the back of the bottle it

Anyone heard of this stuff?? They went and dumped it in the radiator before I had a chance to investigate, so we'll see real soon if it works at all. The car was pretty much shot to begin with, so it was worth a try, but... this seems fishy.

Many years ago I used the aluminum powder stop leak in my leaking radiator and it worked perfectly. Never had another issue afterwards.

Pretty good stuff for small leaks in radiators. Back in the days we couldn't afford fo fix ours right.
Oh, and back in the days when radiators were made of metal.

You said it was a bad headgasket, I'd say all bets are off other than a new head gasket.
