The Little Guy is Doing Fine

Max had is surgery this AM - the gave him "giggle juice" before going under to take the edge off. In 15 min he was acting like he was drunk. The Doc came out and told us he saw that his tubernates were obstructing the airway and asked if he could trim them out. Of course we gave the green light. The doc said it would be more painfull for him. What are ya going to do...

Why does this remind of getting my car fixed? These guys always find extra work to do. Anyway, this made the surgery last another 20 min. He came out of it - goggy for about an hour, pooked blood and mucas in the Honda (even after the anti-puke meds. We ended up watching toons for 4 hours (Ed, Edd and Eddy - his fav), nose has been bleeding off and on but he is just about 100%.

Thanks to all of you that PMd me and said prayers - I feel sort of silly cuz it is a straight forward procedure but still the thought of loosing conscience is a bit scary. Thanks guys!

Great news, Mike.
Glad to hear everything went well.
We sometimes get so involved in our Pcars that we can forget that some fellow Pelicanites are Daddys.

Mike,
Great news! Get him some ice cream as soon as he can have it, he deserves it! You have a bourbon and coke (or whatever your favorite drink is) you deserve that!

Glad to hear he's alright :)

(edited by KevinP73 for brevity) As a father giving your child over to someone else even if it's only for a while has got to be one of the hardest things you could do. I think it goes against every fibre in your body/soul no matter how trusted the other person may be. Sounds like you got some great daddy time with him afterwards also.
So very glad he's OK.

I still remember the last time I put tires on the Porker -- I let a stranger lift my beauty, the love of my life! I can't imagine what it must be like letting some "stranger" do surgery on my child! :)

That's great. It took me a while before I realized that these doctors are just like auto mechanics. They dive under the hood, do a little diagnostics and make the repair. Infact, when you get the bills you may think they are Porsche mechanics.

Here here!

It wasn't like he was just going to the babysitter. No need to feel silly. Any surgery with anesthesia is significant. Glad he's doing well. ...and he just got a taste of college too. Sitting around Intoxicated watching cartoons. (or was that just me?)

Mike,

Glad everything went without a hitch, and Max is on the mend.

Great news!

Mike, glad things went well. I remember when my son went in to have his tonsils and another time, his wisdom teeth removed. I was a wreck, so I know how you feel. Ya I'm a woose.....

Mike,

Glad to hear your little man is doing fine. He's lucky to have parents who are so caring.

Randy
