Help with framing "Le Mans Grand Prix d' Endurance"
I saw and almost bought this LeRoy Neiman serigraph at Barrett-Jackson. After regretting it for a week I found a gallery that gave me a decent deal. #121 of 295 is mine! Now I'm not sure how to have it framed. The one at B-J had a black matte frame, creme linen mat, and a red bordered inner mat (called a "filet" I'm told).
Is there any computer software that will let you manipulate frames and mats? I've never spent real money on art before and want this to look nice but just don't have an eye for this stuff. ![]()

Lee,
That is a beautiful piece. This is just one man’s opinion but for a contemporary piece such as this I think the frame and matte should be as simple as possible. The more complicated or intricate you make it the more the frame begins to take away from the impact of the artwork itself. It can also be nice to have the frame and matte reference the subject matter somewhat. For example, I have a 1930’s Grand Prix poster that is framed with a very wide, gently rolled piece of brushed aluminum… a racing 'frame' of sorts ![]() Whatever you decide it will look terrific.

The gallery just sent these as possibilities. The red would be much more narrow, but I think that's the one:
