NYC new slogan. I don't get it.
Just up on Yahoo: "NYC Seeks to Trademark a New Slogan"
...which is..... "The World's Second Home" Why would one want "second" in their slogan? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=519&e=9&u=/ap/20050217/ap_on_re_us/brf_apple_slogan

Its true. Kind of. That is how The Trump keeps in business with his oversized ugly buildings.. 90% of the apartments are really not lived in - just a pad in NYC for the wealthy from around the world.. Even the storied Plaza Hotel is going condo. Tourism is the only thing feeding this tax-hungry beast. Keep'em coming and off my back..

I think it's like saying... 'your home away from home' without the confusing repetition.

I love New York City. Worked there in the late 60's, honeymoon night at the Waldorf, just recently there on Jan 1 -3 for a little shopping spree.
Enjoy the theateres and the delis. Yes, second home just about fits. Someplace you always want to come back to and feel at home there.

For non-Metro New Yorkers it's a lot like a second home -- We pay the colossal upkeep on a place that is of limited use to us, and then only once or twice a year. It smells when you get there, takes a few days to acclimate, and you really appreciate real home when you return.
I'm a 7-year veteran of NYC. My slogan for NYC: "It'll Always Be There, So I Don't Have To." JP

I would have said: "New York: It's where McSorley's is."

Great replys....and you're all coming up with better slogans. Too bad you're not getting the millions a PR firm most likely got.

Letterman had a great one, years ago:
"Ahh, New York, where in the autumn you can watch the birds turn color and fall from the trees." Or, also Letterman: "New York, the only place in the world where you can be awakened in the middle of the night by a smell." JP
