Is this new airplane real?
-or is it a prop/email farce? Got it in an email. Here is the email text:
The plane in these pictures is still officially the Air Vehicle Number 1, a prototype, onboard the USS George Washington CVN-73 for catapult fit checks. It will be known as the F/A-37. Although the plane & specs are classified, it is believed to be Mach 3.5 (top speed in the Mach 4 range), super-cruise stealth fighter/bomber/interceptor with approximately a 4,000nm range. Awesome! Check out the Navy test pilot in the cockpit of the F/A-37...LT Kara Wade from Punta Gorda, Fl... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1108951977.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1108951995.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1108952015.jpg |
looks a bit fishy to me. the glass line of the cockpit in that last pic just doesn't look right. also, I don't see a reason for the glass to be that large and leave the back of the instrument panel exposed like that. good work if it is fake, though

no way...that's Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii

Those are shots from an upcoming movie, the plane is not real. I can't remember the title, but a web search I did a while back comes up with the real story behind the pictures and an overview of the plot of the movie.

the edges on the plane are sharper than the rest of the photo. Fake

Thanks

The plot blurb for that movie looks about as dumb as rocks.

Ya, it does look too hollywood - about 12 years ago, I wokred with the guys at MD on the A12 - it was a full force delta wing - one seater, sort of a mini B2 but was designd to be launched from sea. Thing is, the stuff was classified and TS - it was scraped for another project, the supersonic F22. That is the latest joint force striker that you all know about - that plane was being worked on 15 years ago. They are doing some wildares stuff now with scram jet technology and some whacked out composites not to mention the software - taling battlestar gallactica genre...

One needed not to look any further than this pic to determine if it was a fake.
No babes like that-flying planes like that. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1108952015.jpg |

I'm guessing that the "Talon" is just a big prop and not flight-worthy. Must have had to put it on the deck with a crane.
I like Jessica Biel--in a visual sense, but her choice of movie roles is decidedly...lacking. |
