I just pulled a 6'13 with nitrous, ran out of gear on the back straight. Just hangin at redline (never bounced off of it) 201mph.

Larger turbos should be in order...as soon as I can come up with $90k lol. The suspension is good as its gonna get, and Im afraid to tweak it more cuse its already on the verge of losing it.

adomakin 02-27-2005 11:37 PM

im loving these times but you all just prepare yourselves for when it hits the uk shelves.......
Andy

Carl Bauer 02-28-2005 05:16 AM

I'll use the nitrous to make up for a mistake if I come out of a corner too slow. The brakes on the TT are amazing. I may buy the '99 BMW LMP and try to go under 5'30" tonight.

Sarc 02-28-2005 06:29 AM

So, does anyone have any "real" 'ring times to compare to these guys? It'd be an interesting comparo.

Carl Bauer 02-28-2005 06:44 AM

http://nurburgring.de/?rubrik=rekorde&lang=eng

The ultimate was of course the late Stefan Bellof in a 956 @ 6'11"130. I guess I know the 'ring better than he does!

Eric Mckenna 02-28-2005 06:50 AM

I suck so far at the RING.. I have a few mid 7's.. I do have a RUF BTR that I took to the top speed run and hit 250 mph with it haha! scarry fast then I crashed it as I lost control! ahahhaah

bluebullet 02-28-2005 04:58 PM

haha where are you getting all this money carl? I have like 30 grand left in the bank account..nowhere near enough to buy another car. I like the 350Z cuse its brakes are nice and progressive. But its a heavy car, and putting bigger turbos will give me more lag, but the nitrous should make up for it. 789hp anyone?

Any of the real GT1 cars, such as the LMPs (even the audi R8 should be a serious contender) should be putting down high to mid 5 minute lap times. I dont know if I can react fast enough....

Ah... I'm thinking the exact same thing for when it hits Australian shelves next Thursday. :p

lendaddy 02-28-2005 05:26 PM

OK, another question. Are you guys using manual trannies? I've never done the auto's.

bluebullet 02-28-2005 05:29 PM

yeah we are..im usually pushing it into redline most of the time, cuse its still strong on hp.

Auto always shifts at the wrong time. And I can get nice backfires on downshifts.

How about someone edit the first post, and put peoples times up and they car they used. TC/ASM is optional. I run all my cars with the ASM off cuse its a load of crap, and I usually keep TC on 1 just to keep the tires from heavy wheelspin.

lendaddy 02-28-2005 05:40 PM

Oh yea, I'm using the wheel with shifter, the one made special for GT4 and it is a ball! If it had a clutch pedal I would spend my wad:) I actually caught myself several times in the beginning using the brake like a clutch, you really get into it with this thing.

Carl Bauer 02-28-2005 09:13 PM

I took a little downforce off and gave 5th gear a little length for the 3 200mph areas. I also found 2 new areas to stay flat through. For some reason I couldn't string together a decent lap tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109653957.jpg

bluebullet 02-28-2005 09:14 PM

dang 200mph on the stretches? jeezus. Where did you win that car??

Carl Bauer 02-28-2005 09:26 PM

Purchased for 550,000 Cr in the new Audi area. Then I did everything the Audi tune shop will let me.

A very quick way to make credits is to pass all the license tests first. Each level gets you a free car. By the time you're done w/ all the testing you'll have 5 or 6 free cars.

Sell all but the best one which I think is some 240SX Nismo thing and rod the hell out of it. Go to the "Special Conditions Hall" There are tons of mini races vs one other car that will win you some good stuff like the Renault Maxi 5 Turbo, Ford RS 200, or Peugeot's '85 rally car. All of those are worth 250,000 Cr. Sell those and pick up something like the Audi or whatever.

After you sell those Group B rally cars you can cancel the results and do it all over again, winning the same car if you like for more Cr.

bluebullet 02-28-2005 09:29 PM

yeah I got all pieces of crap for the licenses. I still kept the nismo 270R. Im going to toy around with that cuse I havent modded it yet.

I'll check out that special conditions hall, and try to save up for that audi R8.

Jeremy Cottrell 03-02-2005 04:05 PM

How about a 7:50 with a 70 Chevelle?? I'm going to try that in the vintage enduro so I'll have 25 laps to improve on it.

Adam 03-02-2005 05:49 PM

7:50 in a Chevelle??? LOL!

Can anyone tell me if the new C6 Z07 is in the game? I had a C5 Z06 in GT3 which whipped serious butts on the track.

Carl Bauer 03-02-2005 08:01 PM

No versions of the Corvette C6

adomakin 03-09-2005 03:20 PM

ok, just got the game over here, bought myself a Ruf BTR. 7.50.19 unmodified. what an awesome track

Andy

adomakin 03-12-2005 12:30 AM

got the yellowbird. 7.39.18 with no mods whatsoever.

Andy

bluebullet 03-12-2005 01:23 PM

so has anyone else been doing anything? Carl you got your LMP yet? Im just over a million, havent had time to play it latley cuse of work.

I did happen to pick up an 87 RUF BTR that I slammed with some 687 hp. All it does is just light the tires and it doesnt stop for crap (I have been tweaking the suspension and the brake bias but it still doesnt have the initial 'bite' like a lot of my other cars do)

Carl Bauer 03-13-2005 07:29 AM

I loaned my system out to a friend for the past 1.5 weeks. I'll have it back today...

Vonzipper 03-14-2005 09:33 PM

My son just posted a time of 6:16 on the Ring, nothing worse that your 12 yr old giving you driving tips...lol

Carl Bauer 03-26-2005 04:46 PM

< 5:30:XXX is possible I just need to learn this new car. It bottoms out all over the place, but if the ride height is raised it pushes badly in the high speed corners.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1111884393.jpg

Vonzipper 03-26-2005 10:51 PM

Sounds like you've set the mark, I cant seem to get a clean lap
maybe more time and I'll be there

wrcRS 03-27-2005 04:03 PM

I don't have a digital camera but i've ran 6:28 with a stock Ford GT le man car, a 5:45 with a stock R8 (too bouncy, needs some suspension work) and a 5:58 with a completely worked over 350z Le man car.

bell 03-27-2005 05:40 PM

i'be been playing this game alot......and have figured out "the ring"....
now i need a fast car.....my 600hp ruf doesn't have the speed of the lm cars.....i have a few in my garage though.
expect low times soon :D

Carl Bauer 03-27-2005 05:57 PM

Good... I need someone to push me. Post those times!

bluebullet 03-27-2005 05:57 PM

I just went 5'56" with the same car carl. 1037hp. I thought it handled better without the turbo, but I was having problems trying to get a good top speed and it was too boggy coming out of the corners. I solved the top end problem with a turbo, but I havent added nitrous yet.

The car goes so fast I dont have time to think, and I spun off the track once and ran off the track a few times. Ive only got 18 miles under my belt with the car, what about you?

Im not going to touch the suspension. If you run the road just right, it will handle just fine. I think Ive put more than 500miles in various cars around that track (the 350Z limited edition I put 260 alone).

But the real marker to beat is 4'54" guys. I was browsing around and some guy did the endurance races already and got the Polyphony F1 car. Speeds in excess of 370kph on the Nurburgring and he posted a time of 4'54" . Anyone want to sign this guy up for real racing? I dont think my brain could comprehend this track any faster, but this guy has me beat by leaps and bounds...

bluebullet 03-27-2005 06:26 PM

I cant do it. The car is just way too overpowered, and not enough downforce. I get through the first half just fine, but in the back section with all the twisties the car just pushes hard. I cant get on the gas at all before I have to slow down for the next turn, and if I so much as just get on the brakes slightly and a tire leaves the ground in mid bump, the car locks up and spins at 170 plus. Its power off understeer crazy in this car, but with the loud pedal down, it understeers just a little less. Im afraid to add downforce, because even though that will help at the higher speeds, the car Im assuming will become even more twitchier than it already is.

That and I have a problem with cutting it too close to the inside corner and hitting the rumble strips. Since they arent exactly nice and smooth in some turns, the car goes airborne when I happen to get sucked into one.

Vonzipper 03-27-2005 09:21 PM

I have a hard time with the two 5th gear turns, my kid can hit them flat but when I try the car just pushes, looks like we have work to do.....

Vonzipper 03-29-2005 06:54 PM

5:54 and spun on the last corner

Minolta Toyota 88C-V (1223hp - change the oil before you mod!) and plenty of juice.

I am certain that I can improve on these laptimes... ;)

adomakin 04-02-2005 01:21 AM

Has anyone raced the 24 hr Nurburgring?

I know this is a minor detail (although it's a big deal for me), but does the sun set, allowing for nighttime racing?

Adam 04-02-2005 04:23 PM

Nah, it's all daytime racing...

I let Mr. B-Spec handle the night shift for me...

Be careful with your choice of tyre - I chose poorly and had to pit my CLK-GTR every 2nd lap!

Vonzipper 04-02-2005 09:28 PM

I went with the hards in the front and super hard in the rear, still having to pit early for fuel...

Ok question, how do you handle a 12yr old kid that kicks my a@@ on the ring, I go out on the best lap of my life and come up with a 5:34, feeling good about myself like I'm the man and he walks up and does this....

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1112506122.jpg

I guess we did watch the movie "Le Mans" last night
