I have to do it from home. Dont have the ftp software here.

Here is a quote from it.

Quote:
Updated on 2nd February 2005

Now, I sell a lot of components all year round, on eBay, Findit.co.uk, ukKarting.com, racecar.co.uk etc. etc. and as such these ads seem to get seen by a lot of people. Mainly it seems, people wishing to overpay me for my items. Basically, I've got to the point now where I can expect 10-15 emails from the Nigerian scam shops for each advert I place on the popular forums.

Initially, I just deleted them, they can generally be seen a mile away -
• typically bad English
• no idea what the product is (they just copy the ad title each time)
• offer to overpay you and request you to transfer the difference (less some money for your trouble)
• any type of bankers cheque
• use of shipping agent
Sometimes the initial mail is well written and so you, niaively, spend ten minutes typing a detailed reply on the car/kart/component, only to receive the next email "I wish to pay you xxx + xxx amount, my associate owes me money, please cash my cheque and pay me the difference taking xxx for your troubles" (the scam works as the international cheque initially clears, you transfer the excess, ten days later cheque is bounced, funds removed from your account, they have their cut).

Well, after having to put up with this crap for months, I decided if I'm going to reply I may as well have some fun with them - make them waste some time getting out their English phrasebook in the Internet cafe and trying to understand what to reply. Sooooo, lets see what we can get these annoying scammers to say and maybe educate a few people in what the scammer mails look like...

And yes, I am five years old :P And yes, I'll update them as they come in - coming soon will be comedy cheque names

If you have any of your own you'd like to submit or if you wish to send in some feedback just drop me a mail on scammers@fluke-motorsport.co.uk.

My favorite one:

Hi Patrick,

£800 is the lowest price I'm afraid, it's in great condition, a good
runner and has six months tax/mot.

Graeme.

Subject: payment/shipping........

Hello,
Thanks for the quick response to my mail.I am enquiring from the
Switzerland,i would have loved to come take a look and test drive
it.So this is how i will want us to seal the transaction cos i dont
want any delay at all.Being that i am enquiring from Switzerland.i am
going instruct my associate in the UK to issue you a certified
cashiers check of £4500 which will be for both the shipping and your
own money £800.So all i will want you to do when you recieve the
check, is to deduct your own money and send the remaining shipping
funds through VIA WESTERN UNION to my international shipping agent
,once he recieves the funds,he will come over to your location the
very next day for pick up,now the money wired to the shipper is his
fees for his services, transportation to your location and back to
me,also for all charges that may arise along this transaction because
i will want it to be delivered to me safe and sound without any
damages, i shall send you my shipper address as soon as i contact him.
So if this terms are okay by you i will need your contact address and
home number so that i can forward to my associate who will be issueing
you the check.I look forward to your reply.
Thanks and Regards,
patrick..

N/B:The shipping funds will be wired to my international agent that
will come for the pickup he will be the one to arrange the shipping
from UK to where i am living. Now that i think we have an agreement I
will like you to remove the advert you placed on the website so that
you will recieve no more offers.I will give you a call as soon as you
reply with the info required to send cheque: NAME ........
FULL ADDRESS.........
CITY............
STATE.........
COUNTRY.....
ZIPCODE........
Phone number Office / cell.......

FFS, yeah, sounds great, the car has a couple of minor flaws which
I should point out before we continue with the transaction. Firstly,
there is a slight dent above the passenger door handle. Also, the
right rear indicator has a hairline crack. Finally, the engine has a
fist sized hole where piston number three exited the block at 14,000rpm.

Is any of this a problem or can we still go ahead with the
transaction?

Graeme.

they are just minor.I will like us to go ahead with the transaction.
Thanks and regards, Patrick.

Yes, just minor things, finally, just a few more to mention, the
stereo is missing it's tuning knob and therefore it's permanently
tuned to Radio 4. There is a small stain on the rear seat from that
memorable night when my girlfriend had one smirnoff ice too many and
just couldn't wait to get me home, finally, I have completely
removed the transmission to save weight.

If all of this is okay, I can send you through the details for
payment and you can send me through the shipping instructions.

Graeme.

Excellent, would it be okay if I took the stereo out? Sentimental
value you see, it was the stereo that was playing 'our' song when
my girlfriend let me earn my brown wings. Could I perhaps retain
the rear view mirror? It was through this that I first saw my
girlfriend when I gave her and her friends a lift home from
the Spearmint Rhino. Also, the wheels are of particular interest
to me, as they were with me when I had the multiple roll over accident
in the car. Could I perhaps retain them?

Payment details will follow if this is all okay with you.
