Talking early mercedes help needed......barnyard find!!

i recently aquired a matching set of mercedes seats.
they were in storage in an attic since the mid 70's, and other than the dirt/dust/crap on them they are perfect.
i started cleaning the upper corner of one and the leather (or fake leather i don't know) is in nearly perfect shape.
i need to know what these came out of, i don't see any part numbers but i haven't pulled off the back yet so there may be something inside.
here they are.....just like i found them.
their condition will improve by the end of the week.

and there's a face in my apple pie.......

I think I see the Part Numbers in that pie. Sorry. If you're able to, perhaps you can haul one of them down to a Mercedes only independent shop and ask the owner what vintage they might be or where to look for Part Nos.

Quite possible they're 107 or 126 seats...up to '85.
You can lift an edge of the material under the seat to determine if it's leather or MB tex (Vinyl).

Also, if you see fine, uneven "veins" in the bolster they're most likely leather.

Is there an armrest attached to the side of the driver seat that pivots up and down?

A better place to post is here: http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/forumdisplay.php3?f=1

Since I'm registered I can post for you if you'd like.

I see the Virgin Mary in that pie! Quick, sell it for a few thousand dollars on FleaBay!
(Sorry, can't help on the seats.)

Those look exactly like the seats I had in my '85 300D. I know those same seats had been in use during the 70's. I think just about all of the models from the mid 70s to the mid 80's used those seats, but I could be wrong.

Judging by the wrinkles in the seat it looks to be leather.

Bell,

I just looked at my '85 SL (107 chassis) seats and while the look similar they are different. I don't have the double seam on the headrest and I have six ribs of perforated leather in the center as opposed to five.

I've stayed out of this thread because I don't want to be a party-pooper, but having been involved w/ Mercedes for many years, including owning at least 10 vintage cars, I would say that those seats are worth about the same as if they were vinyl Mazda seats. They are not specific to any collectible or valuable car, they are MBtex, (vinyl, although it wouldn't make any real difference if they were leather), and there is simply no market for them. It would cost more to ship them 100 miles than they are worth.

I would seriously turn them into garage chairs. They're pretty comfortable.

OK, I just noticed the part # that you posted. They belong to one of these cars, (note the bid amount, that is for the entire car):
