Is this outlook express or pelican?
 

when I open my outlook express it automatically downloads any new emails but ive noticed that it sometimes says that i have (for example) five emails, but when i go to my inbox there is only four! whats that all about? also, i had a 'reply to post' message but when i clicked on the link to the post, that persons reply is not on the thread! whats that all about?

do you have any spam blocking software turned on?

ive got norton antispam on as part of my norton internet security. would that give me them sort of probs? would all of the missing emails be in some sort of 'blocked emails' file somewhere?

i personally dont know how norton antispam works, but it wouldnt surprise me that it sees the pelican parts emails as spam.

i get loads of email replys from pelican with no trouble its just every now and again something wierd happens and ill either have one less email than ive been told i have, or in the case of the pelican thing, ill have 'reply to a thread' email saying that (for example) joe bloggs has replied to a thread yet whn i go to the thread is reply isnt there. strange

Check to see if there are filters or "rules" on your mailbox. In tools menu I think...
