Do Chrysler 300 owners think they're in a Bentley?

Yesterday was the second time a 300 driver tailgated and then passed me.....giving me the "move over I'm all that look".

I shake my head and laugh.

Bentley 'tude on a Chrysler budget?

I like them; I haven't had any problems with their drivers yet. I do think they executed Bentley styling better than Bentley though...

I'll take the Bentley styling over Chrysler, for sure. From day-one of that Chrysler, the styling reminded me of one of those Russian fugly cars.

I think of them instead as the direct descendant of the Green Hornet's Imperial based Black Beauty.

Although IMO, the Hornet's ride was less garish than the 300...

That thing just says boat all over it. I personally like the Bentley better but it obviously is much more expensive.

he actually challenged his car up against mine at a track day. the 300, my friend's 928, and my SC. the rich guy is gonna cover the cost. and now this sunday is devoted to doing some suspension work on the 928. great.

300's are fantastic. Great styling, good build quality, and available with a performance/sporting type architecture for it's class. It totally dominates on Crown Vics, Bonnevilles (even w/ the Northstar), and the like. They handle pretty well for such a big, american car from what I've seen.

"the styling reminded me of one of those Russian fugly cars."

ditto. And, yeah, I've experienced a bit of a 'tude with these 300 owners. Can't for the life of me figure out why. Nice car - or so I've read - but it's a friggin' $28,000 Mopar.

I rented on in vegas last month. I really liked it, it handled and drove well, it was the smaller motor but it still moved along nicely. You seem to sit really low which was a nice break from my 4x4's. Comparing it to a Bently well I have never driven one so I cant say. Very nice car though.

Actually, every non-American (read: not having to worry about American companies pulling sponsorship if they get a bad review) car magazine has panned it. TOP GEAR, EVO, etc... they all call it a piece of rubbish. So you don't think they hate every American car, they are actually quite fond of the new Vette, Mustang, and Ford Focus.

With all due respect to those in central Cali and with apologies to Sir Mix-a-Lot...

Oakland face with an Oakland booty.

It's nothing but BIG looking. As if to say..."Look as my big important a$$ in my big a$$ car, with my big a$$ wheels." That's not styling, it's simply amplification of a rather ordinary theme.

I'd be willing to lay odds that the ones with the attitude probably are driving the base-line 6 cyl model; probably with some big ugly aftermarket wheels too.

As for the car, I've spoken with several owners of these and the Dodge Magnum models (same chassis) and they love them. I was considering getting the a 300 until I found that the Dodge version (Charger) is due out in a couple months; same chassis again without so much "bling" and is said to have sportier suspension tuning available. Alot of car for the $$s, just waiting for notification from D-C that they've been released.

CJFusco,
Overseas car mags aren't testing the same Focus we have here in North America. We got a re-style on the original chassis. Everywhere else got the all new version with a shared platform with the Mazda 3 and the small Volvo. It seems the original Focus was a bit later coming to NA so Ford wanted to run the full chassis life cycle here and figured a 'freshen-up' would hold us.
As for the 300, I think it has been well received ...for a car styled by TONKA.

I've driven a new Bentley and not the Chrysler, but feel pretty safe saying that Bentley has nothing to worry about at this point.
